Re: Opposition fans thoughts on Leeds - Foxes Talk
Been saying it for ages. Even a slight wobble now for Ipswich but it was always Leicester who might stall for me. They were being handed the title, always dangerous to think like that.
And now other teams like Boro & Soton joining in.

I declare my love for Saint Daniel and I can shoehorn him in to any conversation.

Not to say some hand wringing wasn't in order--more that I'm glad its someone else for a change. We'd be doing much the same, especially given their form of late. I know they've scraped by in more than one of their more recent wins. Not the feeling I'd want to be left with going into the international break.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 5:48 pm Tbf they've gone from a potential 17 points ahead too 8 in a week.
And from what Leicester fans have been saying they haven't been great for longer, 4,5 games now but they got away with it for a bit.
Now they aren't.
8 point gaps can be overturned with a bad week in this league.
We play first next match it could be 5 before they kick off.

I wonder if part of it is teams are now up to full fitness and sharpness.AcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 5:55 pm Not to say some hand wringing wasn't in order--more that I'm glad its someone else for a change. Leicester style pass pass pass pull teams around tire them out.
But teams are fitter now as the season goes on and it's less effective.

That makes sense. From their fans it sounds like teams are also adjusting their approaches defensively nullifying what worked for Leicester early in the season. The two together would be enough to impact results and give their fans fits.

Makes sense sort of but.....
Surely teams should be at their fittest at the start of the season after a proper preseason working on specifically fitness?

I can see the logic in that, Leighton. However, I think it can be hard, even in hours and hours training to replicate actual match intensity. I imagine this is why injured players not only have to get their regular fitness level back, but match fitness as well.

Fair enough. Match fitness and fitness are two different things I guessAcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 8:17 am I can see the logic in that, Leighton. Isn't wrong in a way tbf, 1st half they did get through our midfield easily, but we got bodies back and limited them to no clear cut chances.1964white wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 11:12 pm https://www.oneboro.co.uk/forum/topic/1 ... ds-v-boro/

2nd half we controlled the game easily and shut them down whilst creating numerous opportunities.
We must be doing something right at the end of the day , we have the second highest expected goals scored minus penalties in the league behind Ipswich, most big chances created and the lowest expected goals against.
And for a side so easy to get at we concede the fewest shots per game against as well.
Won't be an easy game but to say we aren't all that seems a bit mean
And Summerville does track back . . . .

Got to take umbrage at that one for sure. His tracking back has led to at least a couple of our more recent goals. Its his work rate without the ball that has been one of his best attributes of late. Not sure what match they were watchingCjay wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 11:22 pm Isn't wrong in a way tbf, 1st half they did get through our midfield easily, but we got bodies back and limited them to no clear cut chances.

Re: Opposition fans thoughts on Leeds
I like reading these other fans thoughts Sid, fck em, especially the tosser supposedly at Elland Rd, who was most likely sat at home in his bedsit on an illegal stream.
We mashed Swansea up, why did Amps have alllllllllll the time in the world to look up, pause, and strike a wonderful pass huh, dumb fcker, why was Kamara allowed to get so high up the pitch we became a 4-1-4-1 when attacking huh ? DJ millimetres offside, which on another day is a goal, Pascal with the freedom of the City in the 6yd box and should've buried his header, lots of others.
It could've easily been another 5-0 Leeds had we not gifted them their only chance, Les Mes would've had a suntan had it been out
Like i said - 'If Carlsberg did football matches'
The statheads says 50/50% possession, My eyes tell me it was as much a 'stroll in the park' as thas gonna get with 50/50% possession.
What the fck did they do with their 50% huh ?

My arse he was at ER on Wednesday. He watched on the red button most likely, the same as me, and made his observations from that.1964white wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 11:12 pm https://www.oneboro.co.uk/forum/topic/1 ... ds-v-boro/

Most of which were bollocks by the way.
Yes they had some good periods of possession in the first half but they did f**k all with it. Mes hardly had a save to make.

One shot over the bar & one deflected wide, plus another shot wide.

Re: Opposition fans thoughts on Leeds
Let them continue to underestimate us and overestimate their own. We know what we have this year and if we get what our play deserves we'll be leaving this lot behind.
Putting that in context, there's probably no more potentially negative support that the Leeds United support. We can knock our own better than any opposition fan!
