It would take Bentley months to get match sharp. As good as not signing someone over the period he needs to cover really.

I don't buy it when McDermott said Bentley was in the same mould as McCormack and EHD, 3 completely different players from my point of view. Was a strange thing to say.

Also think we are creating enough chances but the strikers at the club are not prolific enough to take advantage.

Hunt/Varney/Poleon/Smith need to take responsibility starting at Millwall.

Asking a lot there fella.
He has sorted the defence and midfield out, once it clicks up front, it will really click.
I just dont see these attacking options as the ones to make it do that though.
Noel hunt has been a poor signing, dropping down a division and playing under tactics he knows quite well and he still cant score one f**king goal? Impotent attack.

Christ if we had a gradel and a beckford we would be right up there now.

Oh well, later all got stuff to do, hopefully that magical loan player will come in and soon.

I had no high expectations of Noel Hunt seeing as he was a free from Reading but he has been very disappointing considering the lengths McDermott went to get him in.

Whether we have missed out on Sharp is bye the bye, as we may not have even ever been in for him in the 1st place, but it is disappointing to see players of this class (and he would be class at this level) going to clubs who are going to be near the top come the end of the season.

Look at Reading's strike force : Pogrebniak, Adam Le Fondre, McLeary, Blackman, Roberts & now Sharp... For this level, that is some strike force... I reckon all of them are capable of 10 goals each this season even on a rotation basis so they wont even all play every game... thats 60 goals...

Our strike force : Smith, McCormack, Hunt, Varney, Poleon & maybe Diouf if played up top... I cant see one of them getting us 10 goals even if they played every game... Put simply, you can create all the chances in the world, 30 shots per game, but if you havent got a natural finisher up top you aint going to score. You dont score, you dont win, you dont win you go nowhere.

The sooner we get some quality up top the better, Sharp would have been a good start.
