Re: Lucas Perri
This is the worry about signing continental goalkeepers when the PL is all about physicality. I always believe we should have an experienced British GK as a newly promoted side. And please can we stop with these back passes as we're going to end up conceding bucket loads as a result.

Peri gives me Kiko vibes, he has done from the first time I saw him.

This forum is a tough audience. Two games into the season and the new keeper is practically on the scrap heap already. Every player needs some time to settle. He is Brazilian, to suggest he is not good with his feet seems rather premature.
We will not face the press that Arsenal provide week in week out. Some folk need to calm down a-bit with all the knee jerk prophesies.

Given time, Perri has to be much better than yesterday's showing.

Re: Lucas Perri
Citeh signed Trafford who is an experienced, albeit young keeper. He looked unconvincing with the ball at his feet on Saturday. And now there's talk of Donnarumma who is physical but not good with his feet either.SG90 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 10:45 am This is the worry about signing continental goalkeepers when the PL is all about physicality. It's a lottery; initially I thought we'd won with Meslier but he, for me, never progressed at all.

Way too early to be casting judgement, particularly when pretty much all the team had a stinker at The Emirates. He did keep a clean sheet against Everton, albeit they were abysmal.
See what we are like 8, or so, games in. Then we really can start making judgments.
