From the bench: Piroe, Aarosnson, Wober and Rothwell would be alternatives to start

And Bamford. Let's see what his role will be
A much stronger bench than last season, Andrew.

I think Joseph proved a point today, that he should start as our No.9.

Wonderful build up play from Georginio, Joseph still had work to do, sends the defender to the ground with his turn of foot & what a sublime finish.

Someone sings about jimmy saville and they all join in.
Sing about "Yorkshire pirlo" same thing, some fans are clueless.
Tis true they were even singing about Manchester.

How pathetic is that

Basically same setup as last season, 2 holders which is disappointing.

Seem to play with more width though.

Playing well vs a solid mid table La Liga side.

But they are giving us room, the challenge will be when we meet our old friend the low block.

Lovely finishes from Georgie and Joseph
Now do you believe me that we are going up as champions this season?

Like other people have said,I don't hate Bamford as a person I just really think he has let us down over the past 2 yrs,he always seems to have an injury for the last month or so at the end of season I think we should have moved him on cos he will only let us down again .
Sorry but that is my opinion speak as you find I think the team looked good today MOT.

It was a decent performance but not yet

As I said it was teams who sat back we struggled with, Valencia didn't.

Was a decent performance against a side who focused on themselves if you know what I mean.

Plenty of Championship teams set up with a focus on us, that's the difference

Graham Smyth said the same in his match ratings. Really hoping it's the break out year for him.

As for the bench, I feel like we have better quality in the best 5 options, but less choice after that. Definitely think it needs a bit more depth.

Yes and that is why we have brought in the likes of Rothwell so we can play a bit more on the front foot in those matches - or have the alternative from the bench in those matches. Don't forget that despite the opposition setting up that way we still manage to break a lot of them down. We have sorted the wheat from the chaff and are presumably looking to improve on the areas where we were weak, a bit more threat from right back and midfield (and no that is not knocking Gray).

Different set-up this season, we have runners that can run through the low block, we'll be better equipped with a few more signings in the next few weeks.

We finished 15 points above the 5th team WBA, I envisage a similar scenario with the majority of the clubs getting nowhere near us and Leicester, Ipswich & the Saints out of the way of course!

Waiting for the full replay to be available on LUTV, but the comments here are very encouraging, especially those from the first half. Just hoping now we can hold on to the players we have.

We’re also sharing the workload between both wings by doing that, and if we keep switching it as quickly as we have been, then it will be difficult for low block teams to keep it up physically and mentally over 90 minutes .

Providing we don’t loose any more players or at least replace them with a similar standard, then I can only see injuries or Leeds stopping us.

I think he is pretty much first choice now, that line up looked like a dress rehearsal . It is up to him to make the 9 shirt his. He has had a very good pre-season and looks in excellent shape. I think he is going to do very well this season.

It is also great news that Geo has scored a few, and the manner in which he scored. Definitely positive signs of improved confidence and composure.

DF now has better rotation options up front than last season.

I still think we look fragile when trying to play out from the back under a press.

Me, more than most on here, have rebelled against the ‘deserters’.

I didn’t/don’t want them here, but the booing of Wober and Aaronson today was out of order.
