Noocastle has always been a tough gig.

Always take player ratings with a tonnage of salt. Almiron, Schar, Darlow, ASM, Hayden and Shelvey (who I f**king hate) had decent games. Problem has never been with the players. It's Bruce.

Newcastle has always been a tough place to play for the visitors and the home team. When it's going well, or the team is putting in a shift, it's supportive and loud. When they're phoning it in, or the performances are poor it's toxic.

I remember when we were average under Gullit, the fans didn't have faith in him, or some of the players he brought in, so the place was horrible. Then Robson came in and it was sunlit uplands. Same happened when Hughton got the gig, the players were working hard, there was a real sense of connection, and they were hailed as heroes.

Our ratings weren't that clever apart from the obvious five, admittedly better than the barcodes, Paddy & Ali's were atrocious
