We sold 2 senior players and brought in a few. Plus the younger players are all a little bit older and more experienced so he has got Greenwood and SUmmerville that MB didn't feel were quite ready.
It's still a small squad and that doesn't include the quality aspect.
It isnt just me being negative or whatever.
If you scan other forums lack of quality and lack of depth is the first thing people say about us.
In terms if proven senior players we are well short.

It wasn't naivety it was us going into our default JM flood forward tactic that we usually try from the first minute - the tactic that sometimes produces goals for us but more often leads to us being wide open.
We also lost the ball cheaply when venturing forward, that's typical Leeds though.

How good were our two full-backs Rasmas & Pascal, both heavily involved throughout the game & two of a few who stood out??
Also, Citeh's No.82 Rico Lewis, fitted into their midfield like a glove, surely a candidate for their MOTM.
I really don't rate Rasmas at all. He puts good crosses in but his reading of the game is quite poor and he is far too slow to get back. Reminds me of PJ in many ways in that fans see him getting a block in or a last ditch tackle and think he is great.

Watchws a re-run of the whole game, this afternoon.
Rasmas had a dozen decent moments during the game, saving our CB's backs with a last ditch tackle amongst his good stuff. Also stuck to his task against Jack the Lad competently, defending very well down the right flank. Only Pascal had as many good moments as opposed to our CB's & midfielders who were as erratic as ever!

Mr Hay also explains we're more Newcastle in term of club than the likes of Brentford. Newcastle were going down till the money came in and the manager changed, no doubt about that. The former is really tough to engineer but on top of that Newcastle have a much better manager than we do...

He also says something I've been banging on about for a while now... We're weighed down by history, the fan base believe, almost insist we should be doing better than we are based on our history. That put's pressure on the players and club (maybe why we were so good behind closed doors at ER) and he say's that ER is for him the only ground where the tension rises quickly and that imparts itself to the performance on the pitch. We're almost unique that way
It's also mentioned we have a premiership city, premiership history but not a premiership ground... and that needs to change for us to progress

What about pressure being a privilege. I’m sure all players feel it at home but they should still be able to perform to high level.
