Aaronson has been giving a rude awakening, he is targeted with physicality as the opposition know his weakness, but he will overcome this given time. The days of soft free kicks are by and large over and players need to adapt. Roca improved in the 2nd half. He also needs time.

We will see the likes of Gyabi, Gelhardt and possibly Joseph against Cardiff from the start. Wober may start or come off the bench.

It's a narrative that many have bought into. But it's not backed up. And frankly we hear about all this width that we played with under Bielsa. Which is also a canard. Go back and watch all of our goals from our Championship season and our first in the Premier League. We were not scoring from balls delivered from wide spaces. We were scoring because we had six and seven guys crashing the box. Our chances were created from balls played from the edge of the box or through the narrow channels. Our execution was much better in those days. Is that coaching? Or is it that some players got old. And others, like Pablo, got old and left the club? T

Yep, I think those are good observations Paul. Before the feed went down I was thinking to myself ' hang on, we are using the width of the pitch aren't we ? '

Personally speaking, I don't think we have ever replaced the quality which Pablo provided.

Btw, it would be nice if some on here gave Marsch some credit for turning Rodrigo into a reliable goal scorer - Bielsa couldn't get anything out of him.

It is the pace and intensity of the game in the EPL that is a tough lessen. Throw in the physicality with no time on the ball and it is hard to find a rhythm. Some players adapt quicker than others. He has pace and can turn on a sixpence these are abilities which are in short supply and thus expensive to buy. He will come good I have no doubts whatsoever.

He has tbf I think the system suits him

He was no where near mobile enough for Bielsa.

He couldn't (and still cant) hold the ball up to play off him.

He cant run in behind or stretch the play as he is to slow.

Jesse's system keeps him central and limits the running He does

Jesse does deserve credit for that.

But I would like to see a more physical and mobile striker come in just to give us an option.

Apart from one bit of quality, the rest of the first-half was a defensive fiasco, these are supposed to be Premier League players, but they are unable to move or pass the ball around efficiently & effectively, it's like watching a bunch of schoolboys in a playground.

Just fine margins and Sod’s law we get punished more often than not when we make a mistake. The second goal was a bit of worldly in terms of where he managed to put the ball from 25 yards. The back pass was a mistake but he still had a lot to do.

We crafted two excellent goals and had the chances to win in it in the last 20 but such is the brutality of this beautiful game. Blaming Marsch for not getting a win is just lazy.

Adams was terrific and hopefully any who thought Gnonto is average (18yrs old ffs) are totally clueless.

No real blame on Marsch last night albeit I still think we are handicapped by his tactics and that West Ham were thoroughly woeful and there for the taking. Marsch was the one though who told us just a few weeks ago that Gnonto wasn't good enough for the first team, something I strongly disagreed with at the time.
