Martinez made a wonder save.
Rodrigo shot cleared off the line with the ball bouncing off Mareno's knee for a corner.
Two shouts for penalties blatantly ignored by VAR, Mings picked-up Gnonto & threw him to the ground.
VAR soon came out of their cage to disallow our offside goal.

We had no luck whatsoever!
How many times am I going to read 'we didn't deserve that'......of course we did. We couldn't score, couldn't stop them from scoring, so who's fault was it? Ours. No one else's. If we couid defend and score goals we wouldn't be in the situation we are in.

How we’ve not addressed the defence is frightening. Tarkowski, Mee, Coady, Burn etc. All players who would have improved us massively at a pittance of what we've spent on Rasmas, Llorente, Koch & Firpo.

Defenders who know how to defend in the Premier League.

Our defence has been a shambles for years Leon, not just under Marsch. Not one coach has sorted it out.

They might have improved us slighlty but they would still be extremely vulnerable due to the tactics that sees us ripped wide open and outnumbered. You could have prime Jack Charlton and Norman Hunter as our centrebacks and we'd concede bucketloads with these tactics.

In what way has it been a shambles for years? 4 years ago 3rd best in the championship, 3 years ago best in the championship, 2 years ago 14th best in the premier league. It is only last year and this that it has been shambolic.

And we’d be playing 80 minutes with 9 men every week.

I go every home game without fail, I see the panic with my own eyes, it’s a shambles.

There’s zero direction at defensive corners, zero direction at defensive set pieces. The fact we don’t concede is more through luck than judgement. Folk can say what they like about Jansson, but at least he got the ball away from the danger area.

We can all throw stats about, but I guarantee if we don’t sort that defence out. We are in serious trouble.

So.....you are at every home game, good on you. Who is at fault? Owner, Coach or players.

What, Leeds didn’t have one eye on the championship when they appointed Jesse? Did they only appoint him for 12 games then with a view to getting rid if he didn’t keep us up?

I might not be phrasing myself very well but they must have thought he could do a job in the c/ship if we did go down.

Aaaaand it all goes back to the training ground...

Btw the legend of Pontus grows... he had his fair share of keystone cop moments too.

Doesn’t feel any better this morning

Saw a tweet that supporting Leeds is actually a social experiment in how much pain a person can take.
There is a lot in that.

You are spot on Barlow, we both stand in the kop & see the shambles unfold before our very eyes, us attendees know the score standing there on tenterhooks, waiting for the next fiasco.

Don't mention Pontus to folk on here, our best CB (along with Ben White) is hated on here. He was shown the door because he was passionate & competitive, also annoyed/angry playing against a Villa team who fell about at will, wasted time & cheated throughout the whole game, only for them to be gifted a goal by Marcelo, one of his most ludicrous decisions I shall never accept. No other coach would have instructed that action.

Pontus was a proper defender, unlike the matchstickmen, we watch every week nowadays.

Yeah man. 10 outfield Willys. Great attitude. Great player. And he needs his mate Summerville back asap

Absolutely. We have loads of talent upfront but as I've mentioned previously unless we score a minimum of 2 every game we will very rarely pick up points which will guarantee relegation.

We had a corner with two at the back to protect a break, Aaronson & Struijk followed one man on the right leaving us wide open down the middle, we had four v four situation, without one of our defenders laying a glove on a Villa player, standing off & not committing themselves to the man on the ball, Aaronson managed to stumble over chasing back  Pascal allowed Bailey to cut inside when he should have been forcing him out wide.

Poor, poor defending all round from a bunch of useless footballers who can't handle pace or mark their men efficiently at this level.

Is that the absolute best version of itself. The best it can be. Our defence I mean. Absolutely not. It needs a proper coach. I still wonder if it’s significant what he did at the end. Bringing Firpo on & moving Wobba to CB

So have 3 back then, or 4 considering how s**t we are at defending. That was only the 3rd minute after all. It was significant after that in attack when we had the opportunity we weren’t always exactly flooding the box. And then a couple more of our corners it nearly happened again. There’s a pattern

Dont think I’ve ever seen a team whose mistakes are so ruthlessly and repeatedly punished as ours - if I didn’t support this shower it would be funny. Dropped below a point a game and I dont think we will get back above it as things are which is a massive shame as we have a good set of players and should be doing so much better.
