Last Man Standing 2023-24 - We Have a Champion!
Welcome (back) to the Last Man Standing competition for the 2023-24 season!
Here are the rules of the competition for those who are new to the game:
I will post a list of the week's fixtures. Players will pick a team to win from the week's matches. Winning teams/players stay in the competition, those that lose or draw are eliminated. If all remaining contestants are eliminated in a given week, a winner will be chosen by the following criteria:
1. draws beat losses
2. away goals
3. home goals
4. If this formula fails to break the tie, the round will be declared a draw
Players may choose a particular team only once per round of the competition. I will post a list of all remaining players for each round and the teams which they may no longer select. Once a winner is declared for a given round, a new round will be opened up and all players will be welcomed back in. The player who wins the most rounds during the course of the year will be declared the champion.
Since we are, unfortunately, back in the Championship this year, we can dispense with the special rules we had surrounding the "rich six" teams. Contestants may choose any team they wish, regardless of the round.
Best of luck to one and all!

I truly hope your prediction is totally wrong, BG as Cardiff are dirge & I also want to see Leeds win their first game, watching from my usual seat in the North Stand, I was fed-up of watching us lose virtually every other week last season, knowingly the usual suspects on here had predicted us to lose.

They were last season, 64 ........and we still struggled to get away with a very late draw in our FA Cup game there last season. Although they were fairly easily despatched in the replay, with the help of Willy's (Di Canio-esque) wonder goal.1964white wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2023 12:38 pm I truly hope your prediction is totally wrong, BG as Cardiff are dirge & I also want to see Leeds win their first game, watching from my usual seat in the North Stand, I was fed-up of watching us lose virtually every other week last season, knowingly the usual suspects on here had predicted us to lose.
I sense a bit more optimism in these parts in the build up to the forthcoming season. Their new manager, Erol Bulut (ex Fenerbache) seems to have the club pulling in the same direction and the Aaron Ramsey signing seems to have gone down well. Fitness and injury prone wise you could argue whether he'll cope with a Championship season........but then we have PB. Who is the most broken packet of biscuits of those two
