You can’t loose a game. You can only lose it.
Rutter could get loose but he couldn’t get lose.
You can let a moose loose but you can’t let it lose. Although you could lose it but that would be difficult.

Did anyone else think that Matt Smith`s header was top quality ? We raved about Ayling`s header the other day but Smith`s header was equally as good, if not better, as he had to generate the power from the cross.

Yeah cracking header.
Also the saving tackle on Summerville was brilliant.
As was Struijk’s while Hjelde was asleep.

We are slowly starting to unravel that mess with new signings and allowing Farke to start and put his stamp on things. It will take time, we are not going to become flawless anytime soon, we will keep having mistakes, keep loosing the odd game but as this squad gets better developed and Farke starts to sort out the team then we will become more of a force.
2 weeks ago people were saying we had a squad that was going to see us struggle against relegation. Now we look to have an incredibly strong squad if we get a lb and cm over the line.

As frustrating as it was, we were exciting to watch, the pace & movement & passing was excellent.

Route 1 football & lumping the ball in the box won last night.

The likes of Warnock, Allardyce, Dyche, etc would have loved Salford's victory.
Also Leon, our players were playing on a smaller pitch, no wonder things got a bit congested at times.

Citeh - 6 Times winners.
Scum - 2
Liverpool - 1
Chelsea - 1

They tend to win it with their 3rd string, not worth harming your squad for really in the 46 game Championship.

Let's say we concentrated on winning that then, and we rested players v Ipswich last weekend, can you imagine this asylum then ?
From an intellectual point of view I get it Kenny. You're just being pragmatic. Or as the kids say "just keepin' it real". 8-)

But it bothers me when the focus gravitates toward promotion and not on actually WINNING things. The beautiful thing about promotion under Bielsa is that we also WON the Championship. We didn't finish sixth and then qualify through the playoff. It seems most around here would've been just fine with that. Same with the Cup competitions. Well, we gave it a go. But we really didn't have a chance anyway. So let's not be too bothered.

I don't know if this is an English mindset. As an American it's not something I can relate to. We grow up believing that we can accomplish anything. And that winning matters...

How shitty was that Rutter penalty???

That aside, i thought we played well last night. No cup run for us, again. :x

Give Farke a chance and he might just win the championship as well, if we go up through play offs I don't give a damn, especially after what we've been through with player revolt and contracts.
Have you looked at marshmellows record in his cup games btw, if not, I recommend you do, makes interesting reading, just saying like.

I'm with those who know we haven't got the squad to beat Citeh's kids, i mean 2nd team of Internationals. Better to burnout than fade away.

You have to get your ship in good shape before you try starting to win round the world races. We are not at that stage yet, its too early. There are still a few gaps that need plugging ( no smutty comments please :) ) and players that need fine tuning.
Some people get unrealistic about things and let their heart rule their head. Of course we all want to win things, who doesn't, but when you look at what's gone on over the last couple of seasons i think its just not possible to put all our efforts into cup competitions and also making sure we get out of this league.
I'm not a betting man, but i reckon most on here who want us to put out better sides in the cups would bite your hand off if you told them we would get promoted if it meant going out of the cups early on.

To be honest isn't the play-offs system more american than british? Matters little to win their conference league it is just to qualify for the play-offs to win the superbowl, world series etc. Baseball espeically if you win 6 and lose 4 in every ten games it is seen as a good season.

Like you though I was glad we went up as champions, you want to be the best no matter what division. The champions league to me is just a joke now when you can qualify by finishing 4th. Should just be changed to 'top of the league and thereabouts cup.'

Winning for me is everything. I will throw in a story as I know Jaydog sits by his computer all day just waiting for one.

At secondary school and in my first year we did a cross country run, about a mile with uphills and downhills. I'd never done one before and had no idea of tactics etc.I just ran fast, got to the front and stayed there and won. All the talk though was about another lad who hadn't been in the race and how fast he was. 2nd race and I lost to him by about 4 seconds. 3rd race, and still in my first year at secondary and I was determined to win. I smashed the school record despite me being in my first year and other people in the past running it being 4 year older than I was.
I won every race after that but never ran it faster.

Hope you liked that one Jaydog.

Gelhardt, Hjelde, Drameh are all a mystery to me

Could hack it in the Champ last season. Now we're in the championship, they can't

Always prefer a plucky defeat to a decent Championship or PL side. When’s the FA Cup third round & another away game at Dorchester or Scunthorpe

I would be interested to see our record against Prem League sides compared to ur record against lower league sides over the last few years. Maybe someone could dig those stats out and I could turn it into a heartwarming story.

I knew you'd like it. I can't help but wonder if me and my running style wasn't the inspiration for Forrest Gump.

We didn’t play any as we always lose to Scuntchester Rovers or Shithouses AFC
