Sheffield Wednesday will be hoping for a reversal in fortunes when they visit Elland Road at the weekend for a 'no holds barred Yorkshire Derby'. Xisco Muñoz's arrival at Hillsborough 58 days ago has done little to stop the rot. They have lost eight of their last nine matches, and has told his players 'they can't afford to relax for one moment' and must give '200%' if they are to get anything out of the game.

Joel Piroe, Illan Meslier and Joe Rodon are also named in Daniel Farke's line-up after being rested midweek (Piroe was cup-tied). Djed Spence was an option to replace Luke Ayling at right back after joining the Whites on a season long loan from Spurs but will start on the bench. Ian Poveda has recovered from his knock and makes the bench. Daniel Farke will be without Columbian winger Luís Sinisterra who departed to Bournemouth in controversial circumstances on deadline day.





Sam Byram should be fit after the international break, the versatile defender limped off during the opening half of Leeds emphatic 4-3 victory at Portman Road. Leo Hjelde and Jamie Shackleton standby, with Shackleton getting the call. Sam Greenwood has joined Middlesbrough on a season long loan but Darko Gyabi remains at the club despite late interest. Daniel James (groin) will again miss out whilst Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo and Liam Cooper remain long term casualties. Mateo Joseph has recovered from an ankle injury to make the bench. Mallik Wilks misses the trip back to his boyhood club through injury.

The last time the two clubs played, was during Leeds 2019/20 Championship title winning campaign, with Bielsa's babes only winning one out of a possible six points. Throughout their history, Leeds edge victories over their South Yorkshire foes 23 wins v 22.

Maybe I'm well behind in the news department, but why has Shacks got question marks over his future at Leeds, especially after how he has played recently ???????

I like Shackleton, but if the players who should come in, do come in, he'll be redundant!!

Agree, Shacks has knuckled down after his loan spells, works very hard hence why DF picks him, hasn't threatened to down tools and can lake in a variety of positions.
Worth keeping for me, maybe not as good as Dallas at this stage, but is our go to utility player.

We don’t know what Dallas will return after such a long lay off. It will take him quite a while to get match sharp.

Will be interesting to see who starts at RB. Not sure how he can leave Ayling out at the moment. Don’t get me wrong if he decides to put Spence in good luck to the lad. I just think Ayling is still a focal point of the team.

Whoever plays support the team, SW is never a formality, they are always up for this fixture.

So the game is likely to be closer than most predict.
