Yeah, I'd go with that. What is Charlie's natural position in your opinion.

I've never liked the all mouth sgt major type captains, I think Pascal played well as captain so farmalcolmw wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:58 pm Agree Ash, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record on this, but I think the dilemma is captaincy.
You need a leader on the pitch and Coops and Ayling are the natural choices right now. I'd worry about making Ampadu captain yet - could affect his game (we've seen that happen to players).
Struijk seems too quiet and not really a forceful presence. But maybe he can be mentored into the role by Coops and Luke, because he does seem like the logical choice for this season.
But future captain seem likely to come from Ampadu, Byrum or Rodon (if we can keep them all!).

Re: Leeds Utd v Queens Park Rangers Match Thread
This. Love Luke getting forward, but everyday that goes by is one more day on his dad legs especially as the season drags on. Hopefully by the international break Spence is ready to come back and the captaincy is worked out (Ampadu anyone?).malcolmw wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:55 pm Yes, that was my logic. In theory it has to be Shacks, but I think Ayling has to come in to start as captain. I don't really think Struijk or Ampadu are quite ready for the captain role yet.
Its a bit of a dilemma for DF.
I would definitely have him on the bench to come in when Luke's legs run out after 60.
I am also wondering what's going on with Cresswell. He played well in the early games. Just not in DF's plans, with Spence to come in at some point.??
So bench could be made up of Kamara, Shacks, James, Coops, Gruev, Darlow.

Interesting - you may be right because Ampadu is quite vocal with his teammates. Maybe you're right - I'd just hate it to affect the free-flowing nature of his game (maybe I'm just being paranoidThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 6:03 pm I've never liked the all mouth sgt major type captains, I think Pascal played well as captain so far

With the exception of Ampadu, and Ampadu's performance last match, Struijk has definitely been the most consistent player, especially when playing at LCB. But your right, they need to pull him out of his shell.malcolmw wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:58 pm Agree Ash, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record on this, but I think the dilemma is captaincy.

None of this would be an issue if he was still sporting his big sexy pirate look...that's instant captain material

Who goes to full back if Luke or Byram are injured ?
As for future captain, Apapdu or Struijk for me.
Don’t forget Rodon is only on loan, Spurs may fancy him back or stick a 50 million price tag on him….aka
Ben White.

My only hesistancy, which is an area I think Luke excels at, is pleading cases to the ref. For what good it does, this is a role that needs filling too.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 6:03 pm I've never liked the all mouth sgt major type captains, I think Pascal played well as captain so far

Right sided CB on the right for me.
I saw him play on the left two seasons ago and he had a mare

Was wondering the same thing, Sniff. If I'm not mistaken, Ampadu has played right back before, so would Kamara or Gruev come in in as holding mid? Not really sure what DF's play would be.SnifferClarke wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 6:15 pm Who goes to full back if Luke or Byram are injured ?

Well i'm happy with that, can't be expecting PB to start atm.
I'm so glad he's got himself back aligned with myself, that's his first test passed from Soton.
Just common sense stuff, like i said bring Ayling and Rodon back in, not reet arsed about LC or PS, but PS has earned it, Byram should be reet, bring young Archis back in and start Anthony.
I'm happy he took my call, and holds his hand up for HIS fck up.
Now let's see if you've any other strings to your bow attacking wise DF and know how to maneuver your front 4 abart, switching interchanging etc etc etc.
Call me at h/t if tha needs owt mucka, but you should be reet wi that
No need.

Seems he is planning on Firpo as backup for Byrum. Right back is Shacks or could we try Cresswell. Spence of course the hope from November.AcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 6:18 pm Was wondering the same thing, Sniff. Since Shacks is ideal cover for both, he must be injured.AcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 6:18 pm Was wondering the same thing, Sniff. If I'm not mistaken, Ampadu has played right back before, so would Kamara or Gruev come in in as holding mid? Not really sure what DF's play would be.
Pascal could move to left back….
Hope it doesn’t come to that.
