Great game from him, that speed is unplayable at times.... Firpo wins it if he stays on, his passing was sublime and he was defensively very good too. That will get better the more he develops an understanding, something he hasn't had time to d oat ER before. Bigger test than both Cardiff and Peterborough, thought the centre of our defence looked a bit messy and unassured. Millar had Gray on toast for a while at the start but he seemed to fade

It is a fairly common tactic these days - stops the actual taker having to deal with the goalie talking bollocks in his ear. I am not particularchuffed for Bamford that he handed it over - relief was my initial reaction.

This puts a bit of pressure on Saints and Ipswich.

Ipswich are at Leicester tomorrow and Saints still have to come to us.

Saints have to play all the rest of top 5 AWAY.

We only have to play one of the top 8 away (Coventry). Big difference there.

We were watching a different game. They played the conditions better than us. High balls into the box with a wind constantly changing direction is difficult to defend against. Hence why there was regular apprehension defensively. Gray was never on toast, he got the better of Millar in that game and probably delivered the best cross into the box by any player during the whole game. Unfortunately no one was on the end of it.
People hanging off a suggested mistake by Archie for their goal ????? And using that as the barometer for his performance.

Firpo at one point was too narrow and he realised this as the ball got played out to their player out on their right. Hats off he ran like hell to get his body in the way of a cross - I think the ball hit him on the back of the head. Great defendingor poor positional play - take your pick.

Just like the game at Preston ,very physical & fouls being committed left right centre, summerville and Rutter were totally smothered out previously.
This time round with alot more presence in our attack it paid off with some deserved good fortune!! It was a penalty if not the clearest although it would never be looked at again. Nice 3 points

Very good 3 points against a very physical side. Its games like this that can make or break a season, you cant win every game playing nice football and controlling the game as you want.
Hopefully no one has more than a bruise or two and we dont have to chop and change the team for the next game.
