Looks close to strongest 11

If so, he's chosen:

Gruev over Rothwell
Joseph over Piroe

Nothing else to really wonder about

From the bench: Piroe, Aarosnson, Wober and Rothwell would be alternatives to start

And Bamford. Let's see what his role will be

Looking at that bench, it's lighter on numbers than it was last season. But it certainly has more viable options than last season. Aaronson, Wober, Rothwell, Piroe, Bamford, Byram are better options than what we had last season.

Would like to see us add 2 or 3 more signings instead of relying on Crew, Debayo and Thomas in an injury crisis

The often quoted maxim about youth players is that they play with no fear. I think Crew is a 1st team fixture. The fact he was awarded a full international cap by Wales is not by chance. The other two I know little about. I would agree it is generally better to play experience in central defence. But if Debayo has some pace he is not a bad option for the way we play, when we are on top and controlling possession.

Rothwell is not a starter if he is playing two 6’s. The fullbacks will be pushing up and Gnonto and James will be playing inverted.

The most important part of the bench is that we have quality options for every position now. Not options Farke will question using.

As for the youth. We've not seen Crew play 1st team football yet. But the same could be said of Gray last preseason. I just envisaged him as a fringe player this season. I might be wrong. Thomas and Debayo seem further away. Although, with 3 excellent center backs plus Ampadu, Debayo is one that would rarely be called upon. We probably need a full back on the bench instead anyway.

We will sign another LB IMO - One with pace

I still think the club would cash in on Firpo and Bamford if they can to reduce the wage bill.

Depends what you see the bench for ... Numbers are very important, and off the bench it's really only Aaronson and Piroe as gamechangers. Piroe is one the championships most expensive players so surprised to see him benched

Makes you wonder if Farke fancies Joseph as first choice

He's mine. But Piroe is a very very expensive bench player in that case

Piroe could be a decent 10 too. I think, if this is Farke's line up, there will still be plenty of time for Piroe

The crowd looks a good mix of white blue and yellow. Very Leeds United 😁

Both Piroe & Joseph had decent games in Germany, I’d say it’s a toss up between the 2 so will be interesting to see who steps up today. Looks about 50/50 for white & yellow shirts though there will be probably plenty of previous seasons white shirts. Happy to see Struijk back.

Gruev crashing the box is not something we saw much at all last season.
