Manor Solomon

Post by Cjay »

Confirmed by a highly reliable Spurs source.

Israel winger Manor Solomon is expected here tomorrow for a medical.

25 year old multiple Ukrainian League title winner with Shakhtar Donetsk

Came to prominence in this country when he joined Fulham on loan and had a big impact.

Tottenham then signed him as a free agent for the following season.

A pacey and highly skillful attacker he is most comfortable playing wide but has played Central in his career with his pace and dribbling skills a particularly dangerous weapon.

The downside, he is one of those players who probably should have been more by now (still only 25).

But he has been injury ravaged, multiple injuries have limited him to relatively few appearances for a player who broke through only 17/18 years old.

He is only just back from knee surgery and this isn't his first or even second nasty knee issue.

Keep him fit and he is a real coup for a Championship club.

However he could just as easily be a very expensive waste of a loan.

Let's hope for the former

Remember him scoring that worldie against us for Fulham in the cup. How nice would it be to have a player shoot from outside the box for a change?

Really talented lad.

But keeping him fit is the issue, he could literally fail his medical and It wouldn't be a shock at all

His knees must be held together by glue and prayers.

Hopefully we can manage him well enough he can contribute.

Is a slight issue here.

Ramazani, Gnonto and Solomon all want to play on the left.

So the latter is - he could just as easily be a very expensive waste of a loan. ???

According to reports he is over his injury issues. I doubt we would take a loanee with a big injury concern, quote all the potential positives CJAY. You do like a s**t sandwich with one slice of bread folded over.

My fear is it might confirm Gnonto leaving. Would be surprised if Spurs loaned him to us as a 4th winger. Unless they just want to send him here to see if he can stay fit.

That said. Willy did take up a lot more central positions tonight, indicating he's capable of playing the 10. Our 10s, Aaronson and Rutter, have tended to spend a lot of time out wide roo. So maybe Farke can find playing time for all of them. On top of that, Willy did seem to be enjoying himself tonight. You wouldn't have guessed he was leaving.

Mistake on my part.

Meant former, I knocked that up in 2 minutes I'm allowed a mistake, tough crowd

We can only hope he is, he is a big injury concern DDB sorry" you doubt we would" but we are.

Look at his history.

He has missed 40 odd games through knee injuries in the last 2 seasons and is just back literally in the last month or two from his 2nd knee surgery.

He is a risk.

Very talented absolutely.

But a risk nonetheless.

I suppose if it has an obligation to buy for example then Spuds won't care.

If its a straight loan then they still probably won't care, they signed him on a free, they could make a profit on him regardless I'd imagine.

I suppose if you say Aaronson replaced Anthony, Solomon replaces Georgie and Ramazani replaces Summerville it's just replaced what we had? Be interesting to see if the Sallai chat stops, he comes as well likely Gnonto goes.

He did seem happy Gnonto today, maybe happier in his role? A position he's more comfortable in?.

Played with a smile, is he a 10? Not really, was a second striker type at Zurich, could work perhaps?

Don’t think we need another injury prone winger, going to be hard to beat last nights starting 11 so we need fit players who can step in for any injuries not become a liability in the treatment room. I’m starting to worry this means Gnonto is leaving, looked really good last night with a bit more freedom to roam so don’t want to see him replaced.

Gnonto played down the middle of the park last night, where he belongs.

What a difference to the redundant Piroe playing behind a striker.

We also need a squad, so why get rid?

Agree completely and by getting the right players on the pitch in their correct posiitons we looked a completely different outfit.

Would just add that the balance Firpo gave on the left was also pivotal in keeping a good shape otherwise the left flank would have been left vacated.
