Sort of...... My mates mate managed to get four and has offered me one. They're platinum tickets but cost £450 so I'm deciding on whether I want to spend that money on a ticket

Rodon or Struyjk are expected to go out to meet the danger (the winger) with Ampadu usually then dropping in as a centre back and Gruev dropping into the DM role. As such we keep shape and numbers fairly well. The alternative is to play with more defensive minded fullbacks and have a more attacking midfielder instead of Gruev/Ampadu.

It is what it is. It is designed to give us an extra man when we go forward whilst not leaving us too short at the back. Just don't expect to see Bogle and Firpo stood in their own half waiting for danger.
Yeah I get the tactical side of it, what Farke lives by and love it when it works but leaves acres on the wing in transition.

However, neither Firpo/Bogle seem to be able to sense danger that well and are drawn out when defending/sluggish to get back.

If we out score teams that's fine, but teams who sit back and play on the counter with decent personnel seem to get the better of us on the flanks.

Good performance overall and another 3 points. Dont understand why people make the comment about not being in control for the whole game or playing well for the whole game. Football dosent work like that. Oposition teams will always have their moments even if those moments might just be brief ones, and sometimes you just have to accept that as a team and dig in for a while, and for those brief moments your own game may suffer.

I disagree, we should dominate every game and score 5 goals, never allow the oppo in our half apart from when their keeper lumps it upfield, our only complaint should be why didn't we score 6.

Not sure we are on the correct thread with this conversation, but out of interest what does a ‘platinum ticket’ get you mate ?

I suppose it depends how much you want to go.

We are going to Australia to see the grandkids in 2026, we are going Business Class. Obviously, the cost is significantly higher than what we could get them for but it’s something we’ve always wanted to do so going to do it.

You only live once mate 👍

Did Buisness Class back from Dubai to London earlier this year with Emirates, it was quality from start to finish. If this is going to be your first time in Business Class then you will be in for a real treat. Make sure you use the airlines Business Class lounges as well, just for that little bit extra, its normally included.

I have done that a few times also - They keep the champers coming on Emirates. But not since 2017 when I finished working in the region.

Thanks for that Greenie.

Yes, it will be our first time to Australia and Business Class. The grandkids are coming here in October, not on their own but with mum and dad 😁, and we are planning to go in 2026, the grandkids will be 5 and 3.

The main reason we are doing Business Class is that the wife is disabled and, having discussed it with a friend (who is also disabled and a LUFC ST holder) is that it makes it so much easier.

I have only ever flown twice in Business Class, the other time was with Air New Zealand. If that is what BC is like then First Class must be amazing.
Treated myself to both of those upgrades but couldnt afford to be doing that every time i fly :)

I agree in principle. But Hull had a long 20 minute period in the first half. Liam Millar had a couple if really good efforts. It was a bit of a concern.

And I agree that opponents are always likely to score. Which is why we need to be a bit more clinical in attack.

They did have some bright moments, but other than the ball over the top, where it was clear Rodon was fouled followed by a decent save from Mes and the sweeper keeper moment, they didn't really present that much of a danger. I thought we looked comfortable for the most part. They were a bit like West Brom for me.

Hull are a decent team, and you can tell they are well coached. They were clearly under instruction to play out from for the back, despite our press. Ultimately they seem to lack a cutting edge based on that performance and the 3 previous draws.

We will have a better idea of where we are after the Burnley game. Not sure I would settle for a point up front, I think we can take three.

I think there is a key difference when teams play that way against us compared to against other teams in the division. We saw it last season with Ipswich that their approach worked really well but when they played against a higher class of player, prepared to work as well as having skill, they came unstuck (us scoring 8 past them) - it will be interesting to see how they do in the prem given how Burnley failed last season. We generally look far more assured playing it out from the back than other teams in this division do.

For me most teams in this division are fairly much of a similar ability but it boils down to how good their manager is. WBA had no players that have stood out for me in the 3 times we have played them. In fact they have looked a very poor side yet Corboran has again got them in the play-off positions. He has found a way of playing that gets the most out of them. It isn't like any team has got 11 awful players and will simply get steamrollered.

I thought I was the only one who called that. Nobody else seemed to mention it. I truly think Rodon is one of the unluckiest men in the league (the two yellows for his red last season). He got pushed when he jumped to head the ball and that almost cost us a goal. Then a few minutes later he got a yellow for something really innocuous. I was thinking we were going to see an unjust repeat of last year's red card.

I spotted that in real time and was shouting at the ref, just shows in this division without var they could have scored and though a blatant foul, it would have stood.
Similarly the offsides, when it is given you have to trust the linesperson :) that they went to specsavers prior to the game, I will give him the benefit of the doubt for ruling Gnontos effort offside, just.
