Good point away against a decent Norwich side
Hope we can do similar or better at Sunderland

Listened to the whole of the second-half on LUTV as my server went down.

Re: Norwich City v Leeds Utd Match Thread
We didn't deserve more than a point purely because we didn't test their keeper enough. Norwich were poor though.
Strange time to make the subs when we were well on top after scoring. The changes completely upset the rhythm.
Quick turnaround for Sunderland. Hopefully no more injuries.

Take the point.
Not a great performance from either side really.
Seemed to toughen up a bit 2nd half but don't like how much space Norwich had at times between midfield and defence.
Squad management I suppose but subs made us worse.
Like the look of Tanaka and felt pen aside Rodon was solid.

The lack of quality in the 21's is going to hurt us. Farke doesn't trust any that we currently have. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:45 pm Stole a draw on a poor night for us. Gnonto walks MOTM... We're now at the limit of injuries. We don't have the 21's we did in the past and we left the squad woefully short in the summer
Very good point

I thought Aaronson had a very good game.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:46 pm Aaronson was the only player in our front 4 with any pace. And he was the only one that went 90+ minutes.
I'll take a draw away from home. Particularly with all the injuries. The injury to Gruev really impacted this match in my view.

The risk was conceding and coming away with nothing as only Norwich were in the game from the 80th on.

Gruev is a defensive midfielder and has done a great job playing there. Rothwell is supposed to be our midfield attacking threat.

Good game, didn't create that much and almost screwed up defensively at the end (If that were Geo there would be the normal criticism)

Looks like Farke stuck him out on the left for the last 10....andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 9:05 pm Gruev is a defensive midfielder and has done a great job playing there. Rothwell is supposed to be our midfield attacking threat.

Could have won that one if Gnonto had have taken one of his chances.
You can't win every game and all win streaks are destined to end.
Not a bad result considering Norwich looked dangerous on the counter
and were looking for revenge after the playoff loss.
Rama looks like a very good signing and scores with confidence.
Overall, pleased with the away point and looking difficult to defeat.
The only negative is the stream is always silent, no buffering yet can't unmute.

Not sure trust is the right word. Crew was the obvious replacement when Gruev came off as out #3 holding mid. Thought Tanaka did the job of both centre mids and looked knackered at the endandrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 9:03 pm The lack of quality in the 21's is going to hurt us. We were on a win streak? Thought we lost to Burnley. Bogle and Rothwell had the cleanest chances outside of the goalBroad Ford wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 9:08 pm Could have won that one if Gnonto had have taken one of his chances.

Rodon should have stayed on his feet for their penalty.

Take a draw away at Norwich especially after coming from a goal down - I dont feel like we have yet hit our stride and we still have a chance to go top albeit possibly briefly on Friday night.

Farke's here - feelings?
Good point on the road. Good advert for the Champ. Two in form sides. Good game. Tight game. Decisive moments are crucial. Norwich good side. Unbeaten at home.
Two in-form teams on the pitch. We allowed one mistake in our defending over the last six games. Allowed the winger to cut inside and then tackled in the box for the penalty. Difficult here at 1-0 down. Stadium buzzing. Confident players. Not easy.
We had chances. Gnonto hit the post. Unlucky we were back at half-time. Encouraged them to keep going. Not the easiest time. Injuries. Another important player out of the game. Played with a new centre. Praise my lads. Rothwell's first start in a long time.
We had the edge to win the game,. Bogle great chance. Aaronson great chance. Penalty against Gnonto. Close to three points, but Norwich in form. Sainz and Sargent. Open game. Basketball game. Both teams can live with this poi
Subs
Difficult decision. Three games in six days. Our offensive players, Largie first steps. Plan was for 60 minutes, but wanted to use him after he scored a bit longer. Gnonto could feel from 75 was finding it difficult defending and tracking back. We need all the layers available at this moment. Good to give Patrick first minutes. Desperately need him now.
Left them longer than I planned to
Gruev
Not good enough to keep going. Knee injury. Struggled to turn. Have to wait for the assessment. Tomorrow there will be a scan. Does not look great at the moment. Ao and Joe stepped up. Second half, positioning, first game together, we were open and could not control their counters. No criticism. Happy they delivered, especially Ao n their first proper league game. We will learn from this and improve positioning.
Compliments to these lads in these circumstances.
Why take Largie off at 60?
Third start. Intense game. Struggling. Workload, he will find not many wingers that deliver less distance in the league. Not criticism, but we have to work on it. We have wingers out and cannot afford another injury.
