With the Bachmann, squirmer, over line, it made me think back to what a poster mentioned after the previous match about seeing Messlier push everything out during the warm-up rather than catching. With us watering the pitch heavily pre-match I wonder if the ball is really slippy, expecially early on, and as such the bext policy is simply to push it clear rather than catching it.

Possible explanation. Doesn’t that suggest you should adapt approach when things try out (after 15 mins)?

Watford had 2 corners which they whipped right in on top of Mes & only luck saved us , at the other end we either struggle to beat the 1st man or sail it over everyone’s head.

I'm guessing it would depend on how quickly the pitch and the ball(s) dry out. Would definitely think that early doors the ball will be slippier than a bar of soap in Jaydog's communal shower.
