Usual negative suspects

Not negative, just realistic. It was a carbon copy of Burnley, but Farke did nothing until it was far too late as usual. It was obvious v Watford we'd struggle v physical sides, but nothing was done about it. There were plenty of poor defeats like this last season and Farke has no clue how to change a game when we're behind. Whenever we were behind under Bielsa, you always felt we'd get back into it. But we never feel that way under Farke.

Accept the loss sometimes. Football is efficiency with your chances and no mistakes. They were better than us.



What went wrong?

The result. When you lose a game there is always something you can point to.

Football can be like this. The most unfair sport in the world. In every sport, there are so many points to play for, the better side wins. In football, one goal can be decisive. Even the defensive side can win a game.

I am not annoyed at all. Excellent in the first half. We created more chances around their box than the last four away teams here in total.

Millwall has invested so much in the first 20 minutes, but the bigger the gaps were the longer the half went on. You have to play without mistakes and stay disciplined. We avoided all their crosses and corners because we were in their half. Always one or two set-pieces you have to defend disciplined.

Make sure Cooper cannot score and you are there with the second balls. Problem we spoke about this. Should have been two players dropping with Tanganga for the goal. They just stood there and were not disciplined in that moment. Applaud their effectiveness.

Sometimes you have to score out of a set-piece yourself and we did not do this. Offside goal. Have to trust the referee. They are excellent in defending. They know how to break the rhythm



Subs plan to change the game

Played a 4-1-4-1. Two mids to build up the game initially. Wanted bodies closer to the box. Became a transition game. Wasn't sure if Joe could cope with the last 20 minutes after his recent load. Took the risk with one holding midfielder.

Changed the base formation to 3-5-2 eventually. Did not need to change the rhythm, but after 75 minutes you want all the scorers on the pitch. We took this risk.



Decision-making a problem?

No, not too many high crosses for Cooper to head. Awareness and tidiness could have been better. Finishing pass untidy. Two yards too long with a pass. Shooting positions were too central perhaps. Brenden in the first half.

Awareness and quickness in the head with the calls. Needed to be quicker on the first ball. Cut-backs to the edge of the box. Final third not quick enough in the head to score against such good defending.
