Instinctive pass from Piroe but I doubt Joseph would play that simply because he wouldn’t be standing where Piroe was.

I don’t think he has the fitness for a half mate.

Well hardly, he's still a kid.

On another note have we considered Aaronson as the striker... he's not a very good 10, but does seem to have a strikers knack for being in the right place at the right time in the box ...

Also Solomon and James are two of our form players, dropping both of them cost us some sharpness and final ball quality.
I was really disappointed with Tanaka today. Amapadu and Tanaka seem to be the ideal combination. Ampadu did his usual job in a defensive role. But Tanaka just never seemed to find his place. Maybe needs more time? Right now, for all the quality Tanaka has, Rothwell looks like he's the better partner for Ampadu.

John in Louisiana wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2024 9:01 pm We looked great in the first half except for that pesky little thing about putting the ball in the net. Second half we saw a lot less of the ball and things did indeed get scrappy. The subs made a huge difference. They put us back in control. Even when things got scrappy, though, Tanaka, Ampadu, Rodon, and Struijk remained rock solid. Derby's only shot on goal came from a corner; they got absolutely nothing from open play.

All in all, a very good performance away from home against an in-form (albeit inferior) side. This has been a good week.
If only we could win a match on points. Or if the goals were as wide as an NFL end zone :)

Mateo is still young & raw, even so I'm still unconvinced about him.
Better creative team last season.. and he's not played badly for us this season. Cannot be judged on bench minutes

Soloman impressed me every time I saw him play for Fulham in the PL.

If we can keep Manor fit, I believe there is much more of his obvious class to come.

Again we want everything to work from second one. Tanaka has played DMF all season so far, so it'll take him a game or three to adjust to A: Playing with Amps and B: Playing further up the park. Rothwell was s**t for quite a few games and he's only adequate now.

Solomon's corners an upgrade

Derby had scored at home for 29 games in a row, until Leeds United came to town.

Did anyone think the game was scrappy at times during the second-half, we lacked our usual fluency, cohesion & composure.

We still created enough chances to win the game easily.
Yeah I felt we dropped to their level in terms of the general style of play but our quality still shone through albeit eventually in terms of getting the actual goal.

You must have skipped the sentence that said "maybe needs more game time"

Come on over to the light side leave the dark behind, you can rehabilitate yourself by exhaulting Piroe, you can redefine yourself by analysing the Aaronson/Piroe partnership. You can boast about midfield duos, or rock solid defence, or clean sheets kept by Spiderboy, or exciting wingback/winger combinations.

The world is your oyster, step into the light... and apply your talent... who knows Lord Bamford might bless you with a goal.
What are you waffling on about

And Burney drop some points too.

What a bloody good couple of rounds we have enjoyed.

6 points away from home, oppo dropping points, zero goals conceded, and Bamford back to his best

I thought he started the season well, with a goal & three assists in his first six games.

One important goal in 570 minutes of play since.
