NFL
Hi all,
The NFL Playoffs start today with Wildcard Weekend. I've really enjoyed this season, as my team Washington are finally being managed professionally after three decades in the doldrums. Franchise QB, whose Rookie Of The Year, in Jayden Daniels, positive team culture, good coaching, and the wins have flowed. So, we're back in the playoffs!
Who do you fancy to win this weekend's games? I've starred the teams I fancy to win.
Texans v Chargers*
Ravens* v Steelers
Bills* v Broncos
Eagles* v Packers
Buccaneers v Commanders*
Rams v Vikings*

Re: NFL Playoffs
Its great weekend of NFL and unlike yourself I haven't followed the goings on across the pond for some years now. I did watch an interesting documentary on Netflix focusing on the Quarterbacks of Kansas City and the Atlanta Falcons. Its the amount of plays the QB needs to remember, the coded language to tell some padded fridge to block someone.... all good I suppose. I pretty much agree with your predictions after reading up on form, might change the Bucks to beat the Commanders by a slim margin.

I watched that documentary with Mahomes, Cousins and Marriotta and thought it was pretty good. The mic'd up videos on YouTube are pretty funny too, this was JD5 against the FalconsMusicman1965 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 1:05 pm Its great weekend of NFL and unlike yourself I haven't followed the goings on across the pond for some years now. Brock Bowers deserves OROTY, broke every TE rookie record in the book, including a 65 year one. Won’t win it of course.

Agree with nearly all your selections though will take the Texans at the Chargers.White Riot wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:53 pm

I am a 30+ years Packers fan (and bought some shares in the 2013 community raise) .... Jordan Love would need to have the game of games to get over the Eagles. Wishful thinking and unlikely.
My selections are:
Texans
Ravens
Bills
Eagles
Washington
Vikings

He's pulling up trees on a bad team. JD5 is the dude thoughThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 2:54 pm Brock Bowers deserves OROTY, broke every TE rookie record in the book, including a 65 year one. Won’t win it of course.
No coincidence the NFL have put us in for the prime slot tomorrow. He's gonna be their poster child.
If you would kindly give us Bowers and Maxx Crosby we would be forever grateful, as there are still huge holes on our roster

The Texans have gone right off the boil lately, so I would take the Chargers.Pullhard wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 3:37 pm Agree with nearly all your selections though will take the Texans at the Chargers.

I'm hoping your Packers can beat the Eagles, but not sure if Love is fit? That Eagles fan base is such a bunch of neanderthal cry babies. They're still crying about us beating them a few weeks ago.
Hurts was concussed in both games against us, and been on the concussion protocol. I'm not convinced he's a good QB anyway. They will play him regardless, so if you get him on the floor you could easily get him out of the game.
Good luck, and hopefully meet you in the Conference Championship game at Northwest Stadium

Packers beating themselves.
J Love $55m per year and blows a few big plays. Very frustrating.
Defense have been immense

Eagles move on
Turnovers and penalties a killer for Green Bay.
Not sure The Pack could have fielded a serious team next week given the attrition in that game - some big injuries

Re: NFL Playoffs
I missed the Eagles v Packers game, but would have been rooting for the Pack, as I can't stand that cry-baby Eagles fanbase
Game of the weekend for me was the Bucs v Commanders and I'm ecstatic that Washington gritted it out through a tough match. Won it on a doink field goal, but I thought we deserved to win what was a very competitive match.
On to the Lions next weekend, which is a tough proposition, but bring it on and let's give them hell

All my predictions came thru I believe. Time to buy a lottery ticket.
The shadow boxing is over and some great matchups next weekend.
