Do you really think / believe that Archie Gray desperately wanted to stay at Leeds United when Spares came a calling? Did his kin, infamous and with their connections to Leeds United, encourage him to take the opportunity or urge him to stay?

Re: Archie Gray
Seeing as I was getting a running commentary for 2 days I'd say yes and I stand by what I said. Once Archie was told not to report to training the day after and he wasn't wanted back, that was when he signed very late in the evening.PhoenixUnited wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 4:44 pm Do you really think / believe that Archie Gray desperately wanted to stay at Leeds United when Spares came a calling? We have no sell on clause for Archie either which is ridiculous.

Shocking and disgraceful. I'm still fuming about his transfer. What were our board thinking. Dipsticks, Pillocks and Twerps. They will regret that piece of business
..... shocking way to treat our own. I still find it hard to believe that they sold him so readily

Re: Archie Gray
A lot of us are, Leeds royalty. What doubled the insult though is I think he was moved so we could keep Geo and make the FFP deadline. I'd have been much happier with a 2/3 point penalty and keeping Archie.whiteswan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 12:53 am Shocking and disgraceful. I'm still fuming about his transfer. Short term thinking from a venture capital fund lead by an incompetent CEO who actively encouraged the sales of KP and Raph saying "we can't keep a £50mil player".

No need to worry we'll be offloading our best players in the summer, none of our current players are special enough to entice a Prem club

This squad would get smashed in the PL, we'd be up there with Southampton as cannon fodder. If we're seriously preparing to go back to the greed league, then we should have been hanging on to the likes of Jimmy, Archie, and Rutter.

100%
Frig knows what goes on behind the scenes.
Once again we are simply trying to wing it, sell the best players, spend nowt and hope history dosen't repeat itself.
We ought to be planning well ahead, DF has has this issue with Norwich, looks like he'll experiencing it again with us.
Does anyone really think we'll splash the cash when we get promoted !!!!

Last seasons squad would have got smashed in the premier league
Where were Summerville and Rutter in the last 6 weeks when we needed them? (.Championship level remember)
Neither of them justifying their price tags.
Archie - time will tell as he has been thrown in at the deep end.

Re: Archie Gray
Archie Gray tonight was the youngest Englishman to end on the winning side in a European final since an 18-year-old Gary Mills in the 1980 European Cup final.
Playing alongside Mills that day? Gray's grandad, Frank Gray.

Re: Archie Gray
As you can imagine, he got a warm reception today, particularly when he was warming up.
Sadly, most fans had left when he came round the pitch at the end. Those of us left, again, gave him a good round of applause.
