Having said that, he had a good game overall and neither loss of possession cost us. Had me screaming at the telly though.

Would agree with that.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 2:49 pm Both times when we were breaking from the back. His decision-making is poor in terms of picking the best pass option and he seems to think he has more time than he does, so gets tackled.

I mean in general, not having a bash at Piroe, who we know can finish, but our play overall looks totally different, just a general observation i was trying to put my finger on, Piroes movement seems like an oil tanker, a lack of speed out of the blocks?

Because we were winning and spaces opened up?
Joseph did nothing of particular note.
Piroe worked hard imo, Joseph gets tons of praise for just running about, so should Piroe.

Yes, Joseph's hold up play, general involvement and the intensity of his closing down brings a completely different set of problems to a defence when he comes on.
I was hoping he'd get a goal in added time, but it was Tanaka - hey ho, we'll take it.
The best thing about today is that there are loads of Blunts, Burnley and Sunderland fans crying onto their Yorkshire puddings.

Agree with that take, Sub. Rohl performing a minor miracle with the personnel he’s been given. Don’t think he’s long for Sheff Wed with the turmoil the owner has brought on…The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 2:24 pm That's a bottom three team Rohl is working with there, some nice football let down by lack of quality anywhere on the park. Not sure any Wednesday player would make our match day 19. Could have fluked one but never two

Def not arguing with you Trigger, Piroe was poor today but if there was a half chance in the box I know who I’d want on the end of it. DF’s subs came up Trumps today and Joseph gave their back line something different to think about but first and foremost I want our strikers to score, maybe he needs a goal or two to get him started but we can’t rely on him to get the goals to get us promoted.

Still don't understand the obsession with having our striker score more goals. Scoring goals is not our problem. We have scored seven more goals than any other team in the league and our GD is a full ten goals better than anyone else's. Only two teams have conceded fewer.

He was desperate for Wednesday to get something from the game. I lost count of the number of times he said they were the better side in the first half.

Well that's all very well John, but you know we won't get promoted unless....wait a minute, someone's missing!John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 3:40 pm Still don't understand the obsession with having our striker score more goals. Thought the ITV service was poor, the commentary was few seconds ahead of the picture, bith on ITV X and ordinary TV, they were also behind the sky broadcast. I had one on the TV and one on an ipad. I turned the sound off on ITV and used it as a very instant replay

I enjoyed it, a change from SKY and Hinchliffe. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:19 pm Thought the ITV service was poor, the commentary was few seconds ahead of the picture, bith on ITV X and ordinary TV, they were also behind the sky broadcast. I'm always a second or two behind with games, I watch everything through the sky box, inc. all the terrestrial channels

A bit sluggish on the match day thread, especially as it was screened on ITV as well as SKY.

I think that happens when there’s a decent game being played, people want to watch rather than comment. I know I do. My ingame posts tend to come when I get bored. Today I never got bored.
