Nope just the usual kneejerkers with their, 'You're only as good as your last match' mantra. Now he has gone from being abysmal to a 'must start' player.

Piroe getting bashed cos he didn't score and Joseph being praised for running around. Yet when Joseph starts and runs around but doesn't score he gets pilloried (a much underused word that).

Hopefully Ramazanni is our 'score a goal out of nothing' player who can produce a moment of magic to win us a game and Piroe (or Joesph if Piroe is injured) can be the metronome striker to keep ticking along with goals at a steady rate.

One of the great underused words imo.
Also baboushka is rarely used although admittedly tricky to fit in to a sentence. I can include it with aplomb I might add.

Piroe chest pass was a cracker today btw. Dont see a chest pass too often.

It's like that at ER Leon, coaches and plenty of fans are wedded to mediocrity. If Darlow is given a chance it will only be if Meslier is injured or ill. Even if he was given a match he would never be awarded the generosity that's been bestowed on the likes of Meslier and Bamford, despite the clangers and underwhelming performances.

I'll give you an example Leon. My NFL team, Washington, was successful and a huge force in the 80s and up to 1991. Since then we had a terrible owner who let the franchise run into the ground. Last season new owners came in and assessed the franchise without making any drastic moves and we finished Won 4 Lost 13. In the off season the management and coaches were completely cleaned out and replaced with 100% professional people.

With free agents and drafted rooky players the playing roster was spruced up, with a specific recruitment focus on a mix of talent, experience and especially a winning mentality. This season we Won 12 and Lost 5 and made it to the playoffs where we have just won our first knock out matches against teams that were supposed to wallop us.

Two more wins and we win the Superbowl, and I'm not seeing anything that will stop us doing that now, and this franchise is now on track for a sustained period of dominance. That has all occurred in two seasons.

If you get the correct owners, that are committed to excellence and will invest and manage professionally, with the right staff, then anything is possible. I don't buy all this bullshit about 5 year plans at all.

So, if Washington can do it, then why not Leeds United?

They're very different players, Piroe is immobile, lacks pace, arrives late etc. Joseph is a space creator, holds the ball up well, better in the press. Personally I'd start Joseph, he needs game time and he also needs not to be rushed by coming on later. Piroe with years more experience and nous settles much quicker, doesn't feel the need to prove himself if he comes on with 20 to play.

I'm not like Farke in that I like premeditated subs. If a player is playing well he stays on for me so subbing out Piroe for Joseph is not always needed imo, especially id we're not chasing the game. Always easier to sub when in front too.

Interesting James.

Only a matter of time before Meslier costs us more points, I guess!

Sorry but this is just a pre conception because Joseph runs around more.

It's not effective, he doesn't win the ball back more than Piroe, he doesn't create more chances, he doesn't score more goals.

If Piroe was this immobile one trick pony he seems to he labelled he wouldn't score the goals he does or create the chances he does.

To create chances as a striker you have to have good movement, good hold up play and a good eye for a pass to find the space to see the pass etc.

We saw it today with Byram where he dropped off in tight areas held it up and played a lovely through ball.

Compare that to Mateo the other day where he over hit the pass for James I think it was.

The only area I'd say Joseph has an advantage over Piroe is he runs more and he's better at physical battles, headers and such.

But on every other metric that matters Piroe has him beat.

He scores more goals creates more chances, better touch, Pirle even wins the ball back more per 90 minutes as well and loses the ball less often.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but I don't see where this narrative Piroe is an immobile static plodder has come from.

Doesn't stand up to the evidence or eye test imo.

Of course it is Leon. We've seen no development or improvement in Meslier since he broke into our first team. So, I don't see why you would persist with him.

Failure to command his area, punches easy catches, tons of first shot on target concessions, hardly ever got near a penalty, poor distribution, beaten on his near post umpteen times, and plus the howlers

Average championship goalkeepers are cheap and better than him and the statistics bear this out, you will not advance if you accept this standard of player.

Meslier positioning is also very poor.

God help us if we persist with him in the Premier League.

Criticism of Meslier is criticism of Farke, and more blame (if that's what we're talking about) lies at the latters door. Mes is one of those players I'm ok starting but won't miss when/if we sell

This is what I mean, there's a comprehensive body of evidence that he has built up. People rave about him when he saves a shot that's hit right at him

And don't settle for these lazy arguments that a good goalie would cost 20 million GBP. Stoke picked Johanson up from Rotherham for £1 million.

If we'd have been in for him he'd have bitten our hand off. So, that imo is negligence on our behalf. As I've said before, Newcastle got Pope from Burnley for £10 million, and he's the best English goalkeeper for me.

Fair enough Faaip, entitled to your view.

The team scores more goals when Piroe starts, he personally creates more chances and scores more goals than Joseph.

He seems quite effective given he's worse than Joseph at everything but finishing
