This is a match we should have won.

Farke's failure to freshen things up has cost us a win, along with terrible defending when they scored.

An opportunity spurned.

On the positive side, to come out of the last three games with seven points is really all I could have hoped for.

Still damned disappointing.

didn't play as well second half as we did v Sunderland and SU, Brom deserved their point.

Well defended by WBA, Bartley especially.
Not a disaster for us and I had the feeling we would drop points against someone soon.

Agree on both takes. In hindsight, would’ve taken the 7 points. But it’s a head-scratcher with the lack of subs given the clearly tired legs on display out there.

I think the starting line up was, not wrong, just unimaginative. Aaronson has been in fade for a few games.

Fair result. West brom a decent side. But smacks of last year where we could beat the top top teams but struggle to consistently beat the rest

Not a great performance but in the scheme of things it's okay.
The last 5 games have been against teams in the top half and we got 13 points so no complaints

When I have watched us this season, the evidence was that he had adapted his approach. But today he's reverted to type and it's cost us a win.

Strange behaviour, and that will hurt us badly in the Premier League if he pulls stunts like this.

Never really got going after the first goal.
One point is better than nothing.

That's three games in a row now below his usual standard.

A week off might do him some good.

Never really got started properly.

Looked tired.

Fair play to Wba who unlike most teams who play us were brave, we didn't like that at times and it unsettled us.

Tanaka and Firpo did well.

My main man JP with some nice passes.

Rodon and Struijk defended well.

Overall never Really got going and credit to WBA for that.

DF should have made earlier subs like last time, players looked knackered

Credit to WBA they came here for a result and left with a point, playing attacking football
on the break and defending in numbers.

Oh well, back into my garden to finish the slate path. :susp:

Looked tired all over the pitch and a fair result tbh. 12.30 kick offs don’t exactly help the atmosphere at the ground. Take the point and move on.

Could that be because he was ten yards further back than usual and not harassing their defenders due to Tanaka having more of a defensive role and therefore with Rothwell not being a ball winner he had to help him out - but both failed in that respect?

Could be. I think it's also unfair to criticize Aaronson for not being involved in the attack when our attack is designed to go down the wing with Solomon, James, Bogle, and Firpo.

That changes when Matty comes on for Aaronson and we go to more of a 4-4-2. Today, at least, that probably would have been the better option from the start.

I thought Pascal struggled today. They dragged him all over the place.
