Really beginning to fear the worst here.
Not bringing in 1 or 2 faces in January is going to cost us big time.
I also worry about Farke's refusal to drop Aaronson - he may run around alot but he gives us nothing.
Wednesday night is now huge as we have to show we can handle the pressure as in all probability we will be in 3rd place .

Fingers crossed it’s just one of those games and not an indicator of the way the rest of the season is going to go - just worrying that the entire team looked off it today. Need at least 20 points from the last 10 games which if we don’t have a severe drop off in form should be doable.

I said that at the beginning of the season, that sky would have a major impact on our season.

Maybe a creative midfielder and striker to start with. We have a League One forward in Joseph backing up Piroe. Gnonto blows hot and cold and Ramazani, well clearly Farke is not that enthused.JoeDenver wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 2:10 pm Ramazani and Gnonto can. They just haven’t been given much game time. Which would be the same situation that any January acquisition would be in. The lack of squad rotation and late substitutions are showing themselves once again. We’ve seen this movie before…

From what I remember, the wisdom being put forward was that we shouldn't sign anybody who may not be suitable for the PL - the assumption being that getting promoted was a done deal.
It's a bit like Risdale staking everything on an assumption that the club was bound to qualify for the champion's league.
It's not only the club that never heeds the lessons of past mistakes....
And Farke seems to have exactly the same major flaw as Bielsa as a manager - having his favourite players who he plays every game regardless of form. And like Bielsa, if able to do so he would play the same 11 players for an entire season.

This is what happens when teams battle for survival with superman in goal.
The burnley v sheff utd fixture on the 21 April could now be title winning.

Hopefully another wake up call.
We haven't actually played that well before today vs Sheffield United, Sunderland or WBA.
Dramatic and exciting late wins but those will only happen for so long.
The team needs freshening up.

The issue is having Bamfraud as our highest earner while he's stealing a living, it's a huge drain on resources.

I hope there isn’t a DF pattern emerging. Crap summer stat, brilliant Autumn/winter, diabolical Spring. Lessons need to be learned.

Re: Portsmouth v Leeds Utd Match Thread
Thrashing the same players last season all season went well . . . .
Rutter and Summerville especially were knackered.
Aaronson has 1 goal in 12 games
Solomon has 0 in 4.
James has 3 assists but 0 goals in 4 now.
If Piroe is having a bad finishing day like today those 3 for all the good they do aren't atm likely to fill in the gaps.
Aaronson and his 1 goal 0 assists in 12 is bonkers.
It's exactly the same as Mateo Joseph who gets absolutely hammered but has played far fewer minutes in that time.
Ramazani and Gnonto looked like two players who have barely played (we saw this last season).
