The in game matchday thread is by far and away the best of MOT with all it's kneejerk, it's criticism, the moaning, the elation, the relief, the highs and the lows
I know some here hate armchair managers and to be honest I've no clue what they're doing here to be honest if they don't like debate. But armchair fans have a lot of insight born of decades of watching/supporting the team. They know of what they speak, and we all have our little biases, favourites and players we are indifferent to. Absolutely nothing wrong with that
It's no different at matches.
I'm sure we've all been and stood next to the bloke whose constantly yelling how his Nan could do better.
Or the 50 year old fat bloke who works in an office Monday-Friday but come kick off is yelling advice to the highly trained athletes on the pitch.

Neither do I, in game anything goes, even an hour or two after, I hate this no criticism ban a few would seem to like.
It's not an official ban
Hopelessly lost.................. But making good time

100% Wouldn’t it be boring on here if everyone was all happy clappy and singing Kum Ba Yah all the time. The banter back and forth between members is a massive part of the attraction of the site.
On the MOTM thread the disparity between votes is amazing considering everyone has watched the same game, how can some vote for their MOTM while others don’t even have them in their top 6. Everyone sees things differently and they respond accordingly, does that make one person right and the other wrong or is everyone entitled to an opinion no matter how far fetched.
To get real diversity of thought, you need to find the people who genuinely hold different views and invite them into the conversation.” – Adam Grant

They'd be joint top without the points deduction and Wilder has done far more in his time at Sheffield United than Farke has us (a legendary figure)
Blunts fans are always banging on about those two points. If the board kept their house in order, the penalty wouldn't exist. They need to get over it.

There is no criticism ban, mate.
I just find some of the criticism unnecessary, I say some, not all of it.
It's all about opinions, controversial posts are always going to attract more attention.

There's no real issue with any of the criticsm here imo. most of it is 95% valid even if we don't agree with it. PJM was at one end of the scale but I had no issues with him or his posts. Debate about someone elses opinions is great, criticism of someone elses opion is not imo..
As you know I rate Bielsa as the joint second best manager in my lifetime but even he didn't escape my criticism for lack of rotation, sticking with out of form players, not playing others and there's no good reason Farke (currently number 7 on that list) shouldn't get criticized or analysed either.
It's the definition of a forum

Debate is absolutely fine, no one is complaining about debate, its the same people all the time who come on mainly on match days and complain simply because we are not winning the games from the off. They come up with the same complaints and have nothing else to offer. They pick on the players then the manager and make it sound like none of them are good enough ? Are they not the ones who have got us where we are, top of the league. The very same people then all of a sudden when we go in front or win the game, go from constant moaning about the players or Farke to pretending its all fine and dandy.
Its a childish way of looking at things, its " give me what i want all the time or i will never be happy and will complain "
What sort of way is that to go about having a debate.

The disparity Cussie comes simply from the fact some fans dont rate players and for that reason wont give them the score they deserve, and never will. They cant bring themselves to even put dislikes aside and give a proper score for a player. They will always ignore them and make excuses as to why they didnt merit a higher score.
The biggest issue for me, has always been the same thing, running the players into the ground due to a lack of rotation. We saw it all unfold last year, so to see it happen again, would be complete stupidity. We still have 9 games left, plus some will have two internationals on top, so still a long way to go. I'm just worried we'll have nothing left in the tank with 3/4 games left, like we saw last season.

I think there are polar opposite views but it is when views only seem to be one way without actually appearing to think about the situation. Take yesterday and lots of people were demanding substitutions as if it was the only sensible option. No thought about the risk of losing momentum and us actually dropping points. Yes it could have helped us secure the game earlier but it wasn't like we were losing or drawing and needed to change what we were doing. The 5 Millwall subs had little impact.
Similarly the squad rotation issue and whilst I get the point about making the most use of our squad and the risk of burnout again there was little thought that keeping a team that has gelled together makes us stronger. Are Tanaka and Rothwell a better fit for example than involving Gruev as they have formed a better understanding, how many times ahve James and Solomon set up each other etc. For all we might have some tired bodies out there we were the team still going strongest at the end despite Millwall having 5 subs on. I think a lot of fatigue is not so much caused by the relentless grind of matches but in a match like yesterday when we were constantly getting fouled and the ref allowed the opposition to get away with it - Dan James was probably knackered because he'd been kicked, shoved etc all match.
There aren't any answers at this stage of the season that will guarantee a result. What we do though have is a manager that has twice got his team promoted as champions so he, more than any of us, should know what it takes. He will have also learnt from last season (and for me Dan James being on the bench as our season fell flat was a big mistake). However reading some comments it is like he is an absolute idiot.

Hindsight. We'll reassess the decision on Saturday.
But I get your point. At 1-0, making subs could have cost us the 3 points. The imperative was to win that game.
My take is that 23 other clubs in the championship would love to have Gnonto, Ramazani and Gruev available. I do think Farke should be integrating and finding more minutes for a couple of those.
It's in Farke's hands though. He knows the squad better than I do.

Totally agree there's nothing wrong whatsoever with any comments or analysis from armchair fans. In fact the more the merrier as it absolutely tickles me pink to read some of the nonsense written after getting home from the match so long may it continue.
Now we can debate about whether it is in fact nonsense but not for long as there'll be another match along shortly.
Truthfully though it is nonsense most of the time.

I think at this stage of the season you have to guarantee the points that are on offer. If we'd made changes and then ended up only drawing or even losing to Millwall then there is loads more pressure on us to win the QPR match. By ensuring the win against Millwall then a loss to QPR, whilst galling, isn't disastrous. Resting every player wouldn't guarantee anything against QPR.
Not making subs against Millwall of course didn't guarantee we'd get the win, and the knives would have been out if a tired player made a mistake that led to a Millwall equaliser, but we had dominated the second half and were in a good rhythm, true we missed chances but equally we limited Millwall to very little.

Someone must have hacked your account - only kidding as whilst I disagree with some of your posts you at least seem to rationalise your thoughts (apart from sometimes where a certain Joe from Rothwell is concerned).

Oh I'll give you Mr Sullen, don't rate him at all and I'm happy in my bias. But that doesn't stop me rating him high in the MOTM if he deserves it. Over rated here for me and very emporers new clothes.
