But we are basically having a similar stall to Leicester last season, not as dramatic yet though.

If nothing else it hopefully focuses minds.

7 point gap to 3rd 4 games ago is likely 2 in 30 minutes.

Pop word for this season is fatigue

Mental fatigue is a state of cognitive exhaustion resulting from prolonged mental effort, stress, or insufficient rest. It leads to reduced concentration, impaired decision-making, and decreased motivation.

During the Bielsa era it was burnout.

Physical burnout is the inability of muscles to sustain performance due to exertion, often caused by prolonged activity, energy depletion, or lack of recovery. Symptoms include weakness, reduced endurance, and slower reaction times.

It is a case of alliteration Farke Fatigue and Bielsa Burnout... but both encapsulate the same negativity... and the perceived wisdom of why the team is not winning every game.

Its the way things go, we earned the right to have a wobble after navigating February so well.

That's the key point. Last season we never did enough to earn the right to have a wobble. Even after our winning run we weren't in front, we had our wobble and we were done. The wins over Sunderland and Sheff U gave us that breathing room. If we'd have lost to Sheff U but beatenn Portsmouth we'd be on the same points as we are now but Sheff U would have gotten 3 more.

A draw today was an okay result. Last season we weren't in the position where a draw was ever an okay result.

The only explanation is mentally succumbing to a pressurised situation.

At the exact time we needed our calm methodical play we did the opposite.

It's as if they disregard everything they've been taught & resort to champo football.

Burnley - 13 points from their last five games. Us 8 points from our last five.

That's what having the depth to rotate your players does this late in the season.


I suspect that Burnley will win the league, and then it will be between us and the Blunts....

As usual, there is one team that comes into form and makes a late charge for the playoffs, this year it's Coventry.

They play the Blunts next, then Burnley, and I fancy them to take points off one or both.

And then they still have to play each other.

We just need to keep our eyes on the prize, there are a few twists and turns to come yet.

Rubbish performance at a ground that’s usually bad for us, I thought we might buck the trend today but completely shot ourselvs in the foot to give them 2 goals.

We stay top going in to the int break what ever happens and 9 points from the next 3 is doable. Where as Burnley have 2 tough games next

You can have players who are as talented as you like - however if some are jaded mentally and physically in the last few games of a season, then that becomes the overriding factor, which you have not even mentioned.

An example of this at the moment is James - lots of talent, however he has looked shot mentally and physically for several games now.
