Mostly on the players that one, but Farke not without blame either. I like DF, but questions will start to be getting asked by the board. Pressure now amplified for the Newcastle game, which is not what he or the players needed so early in the season.
And for a #10, for crying out loud, did we ever need one more than ever.

It's a knock on from Arsenal. It's what happens when you take hammerings, it destroys the confidence. As we saw under Bielsa. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 9:07 pm There should be a knock on to Newcastle game ...

That was utter, utter garbage. Maybe only one of the starters did anything like put his hand up to be considered for a starting spot (Okafor, maybe). Don’t try and tell me tonight didn’t matter, because it did. It mattered because it was important to demonstrate money well spent. From what we saw tonight, it wasn’t.
Embarrassing.

Genuinely DCL may have just had the worst debut in recent memory for a striker.

So desperate, I’d take Hamer, and I even hate the grass he stands on.Lumiukko wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 9:08 pm Mostly on the players that one, but Farke not without blame either. It was shocking! He had 3 great chances to net the game winner and couldn't finish. And then he missed his pen.

Not really considering the amount of changes. If anything the players coming into the side should have been absolutely buzzing as they would know a good performance, coupled with the Arsenal defeat, would likely see them starting v Newcastle.
Even during the Bielsa hammerings there were some good performances thrown in. Beating West Ham away and the draw v Villa where we battered them.

Based on the available evidence it's going to be a LONG SEASON in the Premier League! And a quick trip back down to the Championship...

Suspect most of the players thought they could turn up and walk it. As usual the lower league opposition didn't read the script and played as if their lives depended on it. That shouldn't have been allowed to happen. Players at fault for me. There was enough on the pith to win that. Shocking that we only looked decent once Gnonto and Bogle came on.
Why switch Gnonto on the left when he has working well with Bogle - that's on the manager.
So many underwhelming performances. I hope and suspect we see a positive reaction for Saturday. We may not win but we do need to show that we up for a fight and willing to compete. If we don't then board will be sharpening knives already.

Did Okafor play well? Genuine question as I had the match on but had a lot going on so couldn't give it my full attention but I didn't even notice he was on the pitch.Orange Box wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 9:10 pm That was utter, utter garbage.
