Indeed but it confirmed it and settled the nerves,if Burnley had equalised and Jack hadn't scored we would have been relegated on GD That goal finished off a very exciting afternoon,I can remember running around the room like a nutter.

I’m not a fan of Jack but:
- it’s not his fault the club pulled him out of the room when he was about to sign for Leicester
- it’s not his fault the club then gave him a big contract
- he was loaned out for 2 seasons when we were in the Championship. Suited the club as we couldn’t afford his wages.
- you might question his impact on the pitch which is trending downwards. Don’t think his on pitch effort can be questioned though. He gives what he has.
- and of course we don’t get to choose our parents …. His mum hasn’t endeared herself to Leeds fans

I hope he moves on - it’s better for the club and hopefully better for him.

All I can tell you is that I watched that game on my laptop in one of those over the Indian Ocean cabins (with swimming pool!) in the Maldives and yelled my head off. What neighbours were probably unimpressed but I didn't care

I agree that it's not his fault that he was offered a 5 year contract on 90k a week. As you say, it was another Orta/Radz machine gunning in the foot in terms of the club's interests, even if he was put out on loan for 2 seasons. It was worse with Bamford's contract, as in his case the club paid his huge wages for years whilst he camped out in the treatment room.

I agree that he does put a lot of effort in when he plays - which is more than can be said for Okafor.

And it still doesn't compare with throwing away 75m or whatever it was with the JKA deal in return for his 50 mins on the pitch - that has to be the worst deal in world football history. It will prob never be matched in that respect.

Agreed. Would like nothing more than to get that wage bill off our books.

Will always have a soft spot for him, though. On the day I finally attended my first Leeds game, versus Huddersfield, he made the beautiful cross that Ayling buried for the wonder goal. We went top of the table that day and never looked back.

That might have been the last excellent cross he put in.

Before we sent Llorente out on loan to Roma, we signed him on a long term contract, and I was thinking at the time that there must be some very cerebral logic going on here that's a few levels above my melon
