Well a full on pants down performance today but expected a loss......

What I didn't expect was a tepid performance.

Worrying part for me was not having 3 centre backs on the pitch and the two we had looking out of sorts.

I'm not cricising farke but it does seem like we have a plan A for all sides..... Like what do other sides of similar quality do to get results (i.e. draws) against top sides? (Chelsea aside we've not looked in it against top 5 sides).

City was interesting changing it up seemed to unsettle them second half.....

I worry that Everton showed how to combat our formation and we'll be a little less effective in the run in. Not sure we have the personnel to change?

I know most hate Gruev on here but what does Longstaff offer that he doesn’t?
Longstaff disjoints Ampadu that’s for sure imo.
Also, they played through us second half which they didn’t first half…

Neither are great tbh. I don’t hate any player- I think Gruev is a decent player but he isn’t prem level.
Longstaff has physicality and knows how to murder a player, which can be useful - although there was a pass he did when we enjoying a good spell of possession that was appalling.

There are a number of World Rankings formulas based on current form. Which I'm sure you are aware of. And most currently have the Gunners ranked in the top spot. What happened LAST YEAR, or Ten years ago doesn't matter today!

We were poor today. We can beat Forest Friday (and we should do). We can give Chelsea a game and Man City? We gave them a game up there but... no sitting back and trying to get them on the counter with a defensive setup like today (are you listening Mr Manager)? We need to get at them from the off. We play like we did against Chelsea at home and we can beat anybody.

I do believe Farke sets us up to be far too cautious/negative at home sometimes. We should always 'go for it' at home. We expect it...

We just aren't the same defensively without Bijol as our central CB. Easily our best CB for dealing with aerial threats.

What really hurts is Kelleher was available last summer and we decided not to invest.
