Didn't we sell Archie, Rapha, Rutter, Jimmy, Phillips, Luis, Adams, Kamara, Kritsensen, Cresswell, Roca, Llorente, over the past few years.
We these sales we've managed to bring in a fair amount of revenue. Let's be honest, the 49ers are not short off a few bob or two. We were looking to bring in a striker for around 35mil, so it's clear the money is there.
We did indeed sell those players
Then we have the whole new cohort. Plus many who were also on PL wages.
Have you checked how PSR works? And also we arent owned by the 49ers. So how much they have is irrelevant

Archie cleared us last season, anyone sold since is pure profit, plus the prem league and TV monies. Ok, we spent 90M this summer and 30M last summer but we should still have plenty

Indeed I have, other high level clubs seemingly have creative ways when it comes to PSR, teflon style. Our wage bill is one of the lowest in the PL, and we were willing to lay out an absurd amount for Larsen. I do think the money is there, and they've done very well from player revenue.

They were standing so close that DCL's back was just about touching Darlow's chest, so if DCL didn't hear any shout he needs a hearing aid.
Likely a case that Darlow shouted but DCL thought that he could clear it himself and thought he was probably doing the best thing. As such they both end up clattering into each other so that neither gets a proper connection. Could easily have gone the other way with both leaving it to each other and it simply goes straight into the net and the fans they 'I'd rather they both went for it than no-one.'
If it had been say Rodon or Struyjk you would have expected them to leave it once they heard the call, maybe DCL with not being a defender reacted differently.

I was there when Noel Whelan got the late winner. Think that was the last time we got a bit of luck going our way in this fixture.

With Calvert--Lewin infront of Darlow, he hasn't got a clear punch on it with the ball hitting Justin's back who was also on the near post.
So neither Justin, Calvert-Lewin & Darlow managed to clear the cross away efficiently.
Darlow can't take all the blame, he is impeded by his own players.
I reckon it's a Justin OG.
A complete mess!

Agreed. Was thinking that it was DCL’s fault given his size and inability to clear or get out of the way.

Well you will know that our PSR situation is that we are only allowed a loss of £60m..
The Larsen money wasnt there in August as we were in for a loan at best!
What does that tell you about our finances? It makes no sense NOT to spend money to stay up, none at all.
Fact is also we dont have the spending power of our rivals who have had seasons of PL revenues behind them and have a very healthy PSR as a result.
And why risk overspending and facing a points penalty over replacing a few rotation players whan truth be told DF has managed to get a tune out of most of them. Clearing them out and replacing them at this point would only cost is more money and not affect anything on the pitch. How does that make any sort of sense?
Truth be told we are doing a hell of a lot better than many of us expected, especially after Fulham had pulled the plug on Wilson.

James, the quality of those Arsenal crosses were sublime, very difficult for us defend.
What could we learn to stop them? apart from attempting the ball coming into the box, point is the gooners have the quality to beat our defenders with one stride & whip in a delightful cross.
I don't doubt that they have quality Leon, but how has every other team conceded less against them than we have this season?
We've conceded 9 goals in 2 matches against Arsenal. I've put together a list below of the EPL teams who've played Arsenal this season and how many goals they conceded.
The first 7 teams on the list have played 10 matches against Arsenal and conceded the same amount of goals that we conceded in just two matches. That is truly shocking.
The 4 teams below is in the table have conceded a total of 9 goals over 4 matches against Arsenal.
Liverpool = 0 from 2 clean sheets
Palace = 1 + 1
Everton = 1
Chelsea = 1
Fulham= 1
City = 1
Man U= 1 + 2
Sunderland = 2
Newcastle = 2
BHA = 2 + 2
West Ham = 2
Wolves = 2
Burnley = 2
Brentford = 2
Forest = 3
Bournemouth = 3
Villa = 4 + 2
Spurs = 4
Leeds = 5 + 4

In the 90s.
Yeah was a cracking set of opening home fixtures. Think Arsenal was our first home game and we also played Chelsea, Man U and Man C. Chelsea I think we lost 3-2 to with Masinga unlucky to hit the post with a powerful header from miles out. Am sure we beat MU (think it was the 2-1 win) and MC. Those 4 matches were the first games I went to on my own.

I am pretty sure that if we'd signed Larsen that we would have sold someone (likely for around £10m - so possibly Gnonto, Piroe or Tanaka) to balance the books FFP wise with Larsen's fee being amortised over 4 or 5 years.

Yes, we beat both Mancunian clubs.
The 94/95 season was when we didn't lose either Manure or Citeh & we used to win in London too.

Not a good read, James.
I know Leon, and this is why we have to give things context to compare how Arsenal are performing against the other 18 teams at this level.
They have had their easiest matches against us. As a one off at the start of the season that's fair enough, but to get pummeled twice after we've had time to establish our style of play and acclimatise to this level is very poor.

That's football, James
I've watched Arsenal a few times & yesterday was the best I've them play all season, they were all over us like a rash.
I suspect we'll get our house in order on Friday night.

It's not as simple as that unfortunately.
