I thought much the same at the time, then realised there was 99% chance of an own goal if he did.

I haven’t watched it back properly yet, but from my vantage point in the stadium, that goal was on Stach.
He switched off, Aït-Nouri got in behind and gets the ball across to Semenyo.

Was a swift passing move though. Good goal in fairness.

Pep telling us Leeds fans to show some respect., that's ripe coming from one of the most unsporting managers in the game.
Sod off Pep, you are a disgrace, you scored a goal in Ramadan time, what more do you want?
Pep & his bunch of cheats received all the abuse they deserved.

Of course he did, yet another devious ploy from someone who thinks he's God.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 5:12 am I’m reading the BBC are reporting boos from the Leeds crowd when there was a halt in play for Ramadan yesterday. Two players took nourishment, it didn’t need the entire team to surround them and offer their support.
Another example of how they bend the rules.
Now the twat is telling our fans to show some respect

Seemed to me it was one of those split second decisions on whether or not stick a leg out or not with the risk of putting the ball in his own net. Snap decision - DON'T!

I still can't believe MOTD didn't show the 'stamping' incident. Talk about selective editing

First Mourhinho and now Spit Guardiola bleating on about "respect". The irony seemed completely lost on them!

Hang on a minute, James.White Riot wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 5:13 am It was interesting to see the contrast in the behavior of Semenyo. He played well and fairly during the match.
In his post match interview he was polite and respectful. So, he definitely has not adapted to their culture. The team ethics, or lack of, are the ones set by Guardiola.
This speaks volumes about the moral compass of Guardiola, which is a 180 in comparison to Farke, and Iriola.
The behavior of Guardiola, Arteta, and previously Klopp, is vomit inducing. Well done to Farke for not accepting Leeds being cheated.
Semenyo celebrated his goal with glee in front of the kop, more or less mocking our fans.
He's no saint too!

If that's the case, he made the wrong decision. A defender should never let it go past him regardless of the risk. He couldn't possibly know if Semenyo was there or not.PhoenixUnited wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 10:29 am Seemed to me it was one of those split second decisions on whether or not stick a leg out or not with the risk of putting the ball in his own net. If he had stuck a leg out, yes it may have been an OG but he may have also knocked it out for a corner or Darlow could have saved it.
I personally think he may have been feeling his hamstring slightly and didn't feel he could risk stretching it.
Either way Stach was caught out and that's why the cross came in

Stach took the wrong angle, get the angle right and he gets there easily. Rodon goes to intercept then changes his mind, that was an error also, my guess is he got a leave it call or he expected someone (Darlow?) to be there. But as first man it's his to deal with. Very small chance he scores an own goal and it would be worrying if he lets that affects his gameBarlow Boy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 9:48 am I haven’t watched it back properly yet, but from my vantage point in the stadium, that goal was on Stach.

Don't think we were booing Ramadan but Pep...also if they need to break fast why not just come over to the sideline if they're Muslim and do that while the game continues,....
