Defenders come off best as Sunderland weren't scoring if they played to Christmas. Rodon, Struijk as good as they needed to be, Justin too. Gudds wasted a lot of good positions, ditto Bogle. Amps a second ineffective game and the deliberate handball was stupid.

Stach's dead balls were mostly good, one poor corner, FK into the wall but unlucky not to score. Aaronson played wth zero brain today, looked like a 10 yr old in the playground. Gruev was ok, crucial block in the second half I think it was..

Darlow's short passing is nasty and should have done better with the pen, very saveable.

DCL is getting defended.

Honestly... I don't even blame him.... Certainly didn't want to do it. Just reaction I guess..... But yes.. Bit more composure and he's easily clearing that... That's the 5% that differentiates truly premier league defending for me vs almost premier league players....

Ahhh you're on about Rodon, thought you were on about Ampadu having time to react and clear the penalty foul.

Yeah think so wasn't far off side, half a yard maybe looked pretty close from the side..... Whipped in with pace but he was over it when he tapped it in which is why I think it went in off the upright?
