That is King Plod's style death by a thousand cuts.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:42 am All that matters is we gain points and not what style or system we play. Plus that's quite the insult for a manager who's being doing a great job for us from day one.
Is it possible you're attempting to set the tone that even if we stay up it wasn't done well or in the right way ? Because if so that's completely disrespectful not only to Farke but also to the whole squad who have been fighting hard all season to preserve our PL status.

One of Lorimer's beauties in the snow.
Players these days don't realise how lucky they are playing on well cared for green football pitches.

We have lost LESS away games than West Ham and Spurs have lost HOME games.

He's got a hip injury now. Wouldn't be surprised if he barely features between now and the end of the season. Plus he wont have match sharpness whenever he does actually come back.
Has the cooling off period expired to return faulty goods ?

Of course it's debate and opinion - do you think it's a new ideology being formed or something ?
Some men just can't psychologically cope with other men having differing opinions to them. Like it's an existential threat to them or something.
" Some men struggle with differing opinions because they equate their ideas with their identity, meaning a disagreement feels like a personal attack. This difficulty often stems from traditional socialisation that prioritises dominance and emotional suppression over open communication.
Psychological and Social Drivers
Identity Fusion: Many people identify so strongly with their opinions that rejecting the idea feels like a rejection of their entire person.
Traditional Masculinity Norms: Societal expectations often pressure men to be "stoic" and "invulnerable". In this framework, admitting someone else might be right can be perceived as a sign of weakness or "losing".
Fragile Self-Esteem: Insecurity is a major driver of defensiveness. Men with lower self-esteem may use criticism or the need to be "right" to assert control and deflect from their own perceived flaws.
Cognitive Dissonance: Research suggests that some individuals experience a heightened physical and mental discomfort when faced with conflicting information, making them more likely to shut down or lash out.
Lack of Emotional Literacy: Many men have not been taught the language to identify and express nuanced feelings. Instead of saying they feel "threatened" or "unsure," they may default to anger, which is often the only socially "acceptable" emotion for men to show. "

I don't think it's being painted black, the reality is that we are dreadful away from home.Madron wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 7:51 am Also, To put that in to context.
If you were told at the start of December we would only lose one (unluckily) away game in the next 3 months , against 7 of the top 12 teams, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Villa. you wouldn't have believe it.
Our away form isn't as black as its being painted.
We have 9 points from 14 away matches, only Wolves have less than that points tally. Unless that improves we are in real danger of being relegated.
Our home results are not sufficient to keep us up, if we can't win away from home.

The concern for me is despite having had a good run, we've not won that many games.
Need to convert the good positions in games into three points. Had we been able to hand in there in a few more games we'd be safe by now. Applies as much to home as it does away. The question is that squad depth, quality of a lack of tactical acumen?

Okafor does have his supporters on this forum - fair enough if that is their opinion.CHAPELALLMAN wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 8:34 am He's got a hip injury now. Personally, I am not the least bit exercised that he is on the "unavailable" list as I think when he is in the team he is mostly a passenger that runs out of steam after 30 minutes in the first half and is completely knackered on the hour mark into the game anyways. He also compromises the effectiveness of Gudmundsson up that left wing and either can't or won't track back as much as he should.
Even before he went off injured he looked much, much less than match fit / sharp at a point where we are well into the season begging the question - is that about the best he can get to? Overall, it really isn't good enough. If we stay up we need to be looking for better next season IMHO.

You're confusing ability with desire on this occasion.CHAPELALLMAN wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 9:46 am Which is why people like you react the way you do. No ability to self-reflect..

Another way to look at is is the away games v Brentford, Sunderland, Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa and Everton, are games where we have gained a point from a probable defeat ,given that those teams were expected to beat us. Those 6 points have kept us out of the bottom 3.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 9:48 am The concern for me is despite having had a good run, we've not won that many games.

Our aim was to finish 17th or above ,and currently we are achieving that. Anything more would be icing on the cake
