Positive:

Gained a point
We didn't lose
More minutes for Tanaka (who i rate very highly and NEEDS TO START MORE)!

Negative:

Every team below us is once again encouraged, and many teams winning when we are not
We have not scored in many games
DCL proves once again to be a 2 month a season purple wonder
We are in our quarterly couldnt hit a barn door phase

I hate to sound so negative, a draw against Brentford is not bad, but how many more draws and hard luck stories? been this way for the last ten weeks.........

We will not stay up if we do not start winning!!

P. Looked solid defensively and at least it’s another point.

N. Brentford also looked solid and used the current trend of players feigning injury to their advantage and a pow-wow with the manager re tactics.

Same as palace game

Positive - a point towards safety

Negative - lack of a positive approach to win games

+ Stopped conceding.

- Stopped scoring

Not convinced we can draw our way to safety?

Need West Ham to lose and Spurs and Forest to draw to make it an okay weekend.

P: I suppose another point is positive.
N: Another game we should have won but a dreadful performance going forward put paid to that. If we cant start winning I fear the worst.

Pos - A point against a top 7 team should be an automatic positive but we left two points on the pitch.

Neg - Looked terrified to take a chance, no urgency in getting forward with the ball ending up with Darlow too often. Subs were awful.

+ve ; a point against a decent side, and solid defensively.

-ve ; nearly 7 hours now without scoring a PL goal, and practically nobody even mentions it....the elephant in the room. I started a thread a while back about my concern of where the goals were going to come from between then and the end of the season, and predictably I received flak about being " negative " from the usual suspects on here.

Are some people being paid to keep up a happy clappy agenda, and to shout down anybody expressing some kind of concerns ? Like you get paid rampers with stocks and shares ? I'm starting to wear my conspiracy theory hat...

Positive: A good point and a clean sheet against a team that is near the European qualifying places. Thiago didn't get a sniff at goal.
Negative: Next one up is Man U (A). If we get a point there, Farke will be a hero.

For me it is just football. Earlier on in the season we couldn't score and the same questions were being asked. We then started scoring regularly, not just DCL but Aaronsen, Bogle, Justin, Tanaka etc. Goals were coming. I don't think we are playing better or worse than during the period when we were scoring just that the ball found ways to go in - there were certainly a few goals that had an element of good luck to them in amongst the good goals.

So given we aren't scoring then the huge positive is that during the same period we have at least been keeping them out, for the main part, at the other end. At least it has kept the points tally rising, albeit slower than we'd like. A couple more draws and a win may be enough whereas if we'd lost the last 2 matches we're probably thinking we need 3 wins.

Similar to the promotion season Farke, the players and the fans need to keep calm. We had the wobble last year but then got the job done. We stopped scoring goals, Piroe especially had a huge goal drought. We ground out a couple of draws, seen as bad results, but it kept us in control and then when things clciked again we were fine (think Piroe banging them in v Stoke etc).

So it is the same this year, the draws aren't great but they inch us closer to the target, keep it still within our grasp. If we'd lost the last 4, conceded plenty then it would definitely be alarm bells going off. We may have only taken 2 points instead but it keeps it at concerned level rather than panic stations for me. I'd rather have the points on the board than be chasing.

Let's all try to keep calm, even if results today go badly for us, and get the job done.

I mentioned the lack of goals a few weeks ago and how concerning it was. Goals win football matches but we seem incapable of being able to find the net at the moment. Farke needs to sort it out.
