What a crazy match! Congratulations to England for earning its highest finish in the World Cup since 1966. I know it's not what you wanted. But to Medal in this competition is a real accomplishment! 8-)

Meaningless/uncompetitive... basically the tropes of a friendly.

I've seen England beat all the top sides in friendlies over the years, but the facts remain that they can't do it for real when the pressure's on, regardless of whose in charge.

Now doubt the overhyping about it coming home in 2028 will start in 3,2,1...
