Superb century from Prest against a weak bowling attack.
Surely has to be the highest score of the day, as Yorkshire will prod & pad the ball in their innings.

Well, that didn't last long. both Lyth & Luxton out playing loose shots.
Run-rate now just over six.
115 for 3.

Oh dear, Georgie boy plays an awful shot gone for 61.
87 required off ten overs.
Not looking good,

Re: Cricket 2026
Very happy considering it's a weak bowling attack. Interesting watching Ashutosh Sharma, never seen him play before, long run slow bowler and a violent batsman, so hopefully a lot more to come from him but 10, runs 3 wickets and two run outs is a good start
First time seeing Prest bowl a decent spell too.

So Yorks still haven't beaten Hants in any competition since 2019....Another chance soon and that one should relegate us

We are so poor!
I could cry when I think about the first Yorkshire team I saw at Headlngley, players such as:
Boycott
Sharpe
Padgett
Hampshire
Close
Illingworth
Binks
Wilson
Trueman

Re: Cricket 2026
What was it....
Two sitter catches dropped.
Three crazy run outs.
At least four of our batsmen chucked their wickets away, including two of our experienced players Lyth & Bess.
All this against a severely weakened Hampshire team.
Feeble & pathetic for the umpteenth time this season.

Re: Cricket 2026
Hampshire had eleven players missing - eight in something called The Hundred and three "rested". We were going great until Lyth decided to play a ridiculous reverse sweep. Another recovery was going well until Whiteman lobbed one up in the air. The last recovery was halted when Hill (who bowled and batted well) was caught at square leg. Add to that three run-outs, two of which mattered, and we fell in the usual pathetic heap.

Re: Cricket 2026
Yorkshire have signed India international spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav for part of this year's One-Day Cup and County Championship.
The 31-year-old will join the White Rose for five One-Day Cup fixtures and will then return for three of the last four County Championship fixtures in September.
He will now go straight into the squad for Friday's one-day fixture against Glamorgan in south Wales.
"I'm really pleased to be joining Yorkshire and grateful for this opportunity. It will be a real privilege to represent a club with Yorkshire's proud history," he said.
"I've always enjoyed the challenge of playing in English conditions and after speaking with the management, I became really excited to join up with the team and I'm looking forward to making a positive contribution during my time at Headingley."
The left-arm spinner has taken 79 wickets with best figures of 5-40 in 18 Test matches and previously played against England in 2024, taking 19 wickets across the five-match series.
In one-day international cricket Yadav, who has missed all three of India's ODIs against England this summer, has taken a total of 194 wickets with his best return 6-25.
"Kuldeep is an accomplished, international quality player who will add incredible strength to our line-up for these blocks of fixtures," Yorkshire general manager of cricket Gavin Hamilton said.
"Given the dry summer we've experienced, we expect spin to play an important role during the closing stages of the season. Kuldeep gives us another dimension with his left-arm wrist spin and brings a wealth of experience at the highest level. We're delighted to welcome him to Yorkshire."

Yadav should be an asset to our woeful bowling attack.

If I were a cricket coach I'd ban the reverse sweep...
