Would be an impressive signing for Fulham

Real Madrid fans rate him (did well last season)

And a lot of clubs have tried to buy him over the last few years but had it turned down.

Saw this earlier, sums it up well…
Let’s lay out the facts you constantly try to ignore. Manchester City faces an unprecedented 115 charges from the Premier League for breaching financial rules between 2009 and 2018. The league accuses the club of running a decade-long operation to artificially inflate its income while hiding its true spending.

The case relies heavily on leaked internal emails published by German magazine Der Spiegel. These documents suggest that City systematically misled football authorities to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

1. Disguised Owner Funding

The Premier League alleges that Manchester City used "ghost sponsors" to pump money into the club. Under financial rules, owners face strict limits on how much of their own cash they can inject. To bypass this, City’s parent company the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) allegedly funnelled money through state-linked sponsors like Etihad Airways. The sponsors paid only a fraction of the official contract value, while City's ownership secretly topped up the rest. This falsely made the club look self-sufficient.

2. Off-the-Books Manager Salaries

The club is accused of hiding the true cost of its managers' wages. Former manager Roberto Mancini allegedly signed a secret second contract to act as a consultant for Al Jazira, a club in Abu Dhabi. This allowed a large portion of his salary to be paid offshore through a shell company in Mauritius. By keeping these payments off City's official accounts, the club artificially lowered its recorded overheads. Similar accounting failures are alleged during Manuel Pellegrini’s tenure.

3. Secret Player and Agent Payments

City is accused of failing to disclose the full details of player wages and image rights. The league alleges the club used offshore entities and third-party companies to pay players more than what was stated on their official Premier League contracts. For example, leaked documents suggested that secret image-rights payments for midfielder Yaya Touré were paid directly by ADUG to his agent’s company, keeping the costs off City’s balance sheet.

4. Bypassing Youth Recruitment Rules

Beyond adult squads, the leaks accused Manchester City of breaking rules regarding underage players. The club made illicit payments to the families of young players to pressure them into signing. Football rules strictly prohibit paying monetary incentives to minors or their families during youth recruitment.

5. Obstruction and Non-Cooperation

The largest single group of charges amounting to 35 separate counts relates to City’s behaviour during the five-year investigation. The Premier League states that the club failed to act in "utmost good faith." City is accused of deliberately obstructing the inquiry by refusing to hand over financial documents, emails, and player records.

If you are wondering why the Premier League is taking so long to hand down a punishment, the reason is obvious: the sheer scale of the legal and financial fallout. If City is found guilty, it triggers an absolute disaster for English football. Every single club that finished second to City will rightfully claim those titles. Every team that missed out on the top four will demand the Champions League revenue they were robbed of. Every club relegated by a matter of points during those years will sue for the catastrophic loss of TV broadcasting rights. The financial liabilities would bankrupt the league, which is exactly why the case remains trapped in bureaucratic limbo.

So City fans do everyone a favour: sit down and stay quiet. Save us your hollow, pathetic excuses. You support a plastic, engineered club built entirely on financial deception. Have some shame.

Always amazed you can talk to a player before agreeing a price. It's basically tapping up
