From the Athletic:

The New England Revolution is closing in on a deal to sign English winger Jack Harrison from Leeds United, sources briefed on the deal tell The Athletic.

Harrison will join the Revs as a designated player, sources add.

I don’t know what it means though - foreign player maybe?

A player that doesn't get included in the salary cap. MLS teams can have up to three apparently. Also called the Beckham rule. Apparently the league and not the club pays the salary

Joffy is on pennies, he has easily enough talent to keep him as cheap homegrown who can play prem level if needed in an injury crisis
