Match Thread Preseason: Leeds vs Augsburg - Match Thread

Leipzig the visitors on Saturday afternoon for our fourth friendly of the season

Odds of Trafford playing look to be about zero atm and no other new names for us. Gudds will be out I'd guess, also Gruev who's repairing a miniscus injury (nasty) .Bijol has been out with a knee injury. Okafor should start after an extended holiday

I find friendlies a bit tedious, but I’ll be going along to see the new players in the flesh.

Weather looks set fair too 👍

Our players who were at the WC should probably have been given a bit more time off in my opinion.

Gudmundsson has already picked up an injury and he could easily have been excused from the American tour having already been over there for at least a month this summer with Sweden.

Waste of space in my opinion. A bit like international friendlies. Unnecessary injuries waiting to happen.

I get to meet up with my pals for a couple of pints, otherwise, I don’t think I’d bother going either to be honest.

We’ve already lost Gudmundsson to an injury.

It means I’ll have to be up at 7am, to get the dog out, to have some breakfast, to get showered, to get to Elland Road for a couple of pints and get to the game.

It's a 6am kickoff here in the Pacific Time Zone Vic. I typically don't wake up early until the regular season begins. But I'll be at the Black Hills Motorcycle Rally this weekend anyway. There will be no time for Football. 8-)

I'll be up at 6: always am. My guitar workshop is right outside my bedroom at the moment so it will be coffee and guitars until kick off...

I have a good friend in Spearfish, SD that does guitar work. He also buys and sells. 8-)

I used to sell when I was able to get guitars from a wholesaler. Once he cottoned on that he was making £30 per guitar and I was making £90 he stopped selling them to me. I also used to import top quality gear from China way back but once import tax became a thing: that ended that. I'm no longer interested in buying/selling. Too many middle men. That said: I fix other peoples guitars far too cheaply so it's not a money thing...

Club friendlies are hugely important

Not sure we needed 6 and at such a high level as well.

Unless you meant it's important for the club to make the extra revenue :)

Extra revenue for the club, we need to join the bigger boys in terms of marketing/expanding fan base because SCR.. It gives Farke game time to try things, work out formations/ partnerships(tbh I think he would have expected more in the door at this point than Muha and Wilson) It allows the kids top level experience in front of decent size crowds... Every friendly should be benificial for the club assuming we get it right

You never want to go into a season cold

I’m going to the game in Croke Park v Man U.
82,000 tickets sold.
Really looking forward to it.
For lots of overseas fans, friendlies are a rare opportunity to see them play live without dropping £400-£500 on travel, hotels and hospitality packages for match tickets

Exactly this. I made that point a couple of weeks back too. I'm visiting home in Wakefield and going to the Leipzig game Saturday. It's my only opportunity to see them this year and given they're playing decent opposition too.
