That was what stood out in the limited research I did. Clearly talented but seems a bit of a w*nker. Hope we don't waste money on him - he could be good but just as likely could be a complete waste of money.

To be honest I thought he was brazillian. Stopped playing CM many years ago otherwise would probably have been one of those wonderkids. Don't really follow Portugal or Italian football so no idea who he was, who he played for, what position etc.

Losing Rodon's pace will hurt us I think. Can only assume this is a Rodon so called upgrade, unless he's replacing Bijol at sweeper. TBF that makes more sense

Makes no sense to replace Bijol at all imo.

I think it's strange all round regardless of how good Elvedi might be.

Surely for a backup you go younger and left footed given we only have Tarik.

And cheap, hard to believe Elvedi will be any of those things.

Right according to lineups.

Had a look at vs Argentina and he was right.

Worth a risk if the price reflects that it is a gamble. for £40m+ it is too much of a gamble in my humble opinion.

Too much is made about left footers having to play on the left side of defence. Fair enough at full back when you are overlapping and putting crosses in. I was right footed but played most of the time as left centreback (as usually we had other right footers and no left footers) and was comfortable doing it. Yes some players are very weak on their 'wrong' foot but a lot are more than competent and if a striker is cutting in towards goal you have to tackle with your right if you are playing in the left centreback position.
