Will take that. Think Brentford were the better side but we battled well and Farke made brave substitutions to change the match and get us competing. Can see Brentford having a very good season.
Will be interesting what we do now in terms of Rodon being likely out for a couple of months. Can see us opting for a centreback, ideally one who can also play left back - but who that is....

Decent result after a dreadful first half performance.
Bees take their chances and we would have been buried.
Well done DF with the changes and good effort from the lads second half.
Wilson has not settled in yet.

Good result in the end. Do we need to start with the same formation every game, particularly at home? It’s great away but I just feel at home we invite the opposition on to us and have nowt to hit back with.

Hats off to Farke for arresting at half time a performance that was becoming an embarrassment.
Much better second half. Considering how I felt at half time I am very happy with a point.
Dan James must be told never to shoot again.

Happy with a point
Subs made a difference in the end, Tanaka and Nmecha especially.
Brentford still be gutted to not win, they were immense for large periods.
Take the point and move on

Looked great in the 2H with a chance to win it late. Farke got it right bringing on DJ and Nmecha. Good point in the end, will take that.

I'll take a goal scorer every time
How often do we hear plays a great game but has no end product?

Putting it right is the main thing. And at HT.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2026 2:56 pm The worrying thing was the original set up... which Farke got wrong, fair play on rebalancing but it was obvious.
He is often criticised for his insistence on 70th minute changes so…

Can't be
Piroe was useless because all he did was score and create goals.

A shout out to Trafford who made an excellent save mid way through the 2nd half.
That made the draw happen.

Re: Leeds United vs Brentford - Match Thread
I'll take the draw after that first half and against a very slick Brentford side, and indeed a draw is what I predicted in the poll. Credit to Farke for changing formation and personnel much earlier than he normally does and acknowledging he got the first half strategy wrong. Wilson and Nmecha were real menaces when they came on, and Tanaka added much needed energy and the extra body in midfield. Stach was very good in general midfield duties, but his free kicks were unusually poor, and he really should have gone for goal on that last kick of the match.
Rodon is going to be a loss as it will likely force a 4 at the back formation no matter what, unless Justin becomes cover for 3 CBs when Guds comes back, but still leaves us light.
Nevertheless, after 2 games we are averaging 2 points a match which is euro places.

Re: Leeds United vs Brentford - Match Thread
Relax, some people just like to run down our players - especially those picked by Farke (of course the ones he doesn't select would walk into a World XI). Strikers are different but ultimately putting the ball in the net is the biggest part of their game and DCL did really well to time his run to perfection so as to be in the right place and not be offside (just like last week when unfortunately Wilson nipped in and scored from an offside position when DCL was in place to tap home).
