Unfortunately, I missed the game due to holiday.

I'm hearing & reading had a stinker yesterday.

We were outplayed in the first half by a better side and were very fortunate to go in only 0-1 down at half-time. In the second half we were much better and made a good fist of going for a win in the last 15 minutes. However our passing is far too slipshod at the moment with too many passes going astray both in defence and attack. Still a point was a good outcome.

Not a stinker in my opinion as it was a difficult first half for all the team with only Okafor showing anything. As usual though they boo boys around me in the pub pick on Brendan.

The correct decision to take him off though as Wilson helped the team improve, however it was mainly the change in formation to give us the extra body in midfield that altered the pattern of the game. Putting Tanaka in there worked well but it could just as easily have been Gruev for example.

He was ineffective, but I think it was a result of tactics, both ours and Brentford's, and not poor play on his part.

He was largely anonymous. Didn't make any blunders but didn't make a significant impact. I gave him a six in the player ratings because I was hesitant to label his play poor, but I understand why most others rated him lower than that.

Thought Ampadu did well even though we were overran in midfield.

It is only the second game into the season. The passing was a bit erratic at times, players were caught out of position on occasion, players not making runs to collect long passes intended for them etc. The players are not all firing on all cylinders. However, it was good to see the agility shown by Daniel Farke to evolve his match strategy in play and having the presonnel in hand to make that change happen. All of that should improve in the coming weeks.

For me what is showed is that anyone playing us this season will not get an easy pass to get points against us. 10 games into the season I think we will see the 26/27 Leeds United emerge and hopefully that will be a team that will collect a minimum of 50 points this season.......

I guess the lack of service applied to Calvert-Lewin in the first-half too.

If yesterday showed one thing, it showed Daniel is evolving as a PL manager.
I doubt very much he would have made two substitutions at half time, this time last year.
His decision making was spot on yesterday.

Things were not going terribly bell I accept but only a cavalier Manager would do such a thing don't you think?

30 minutes is a third of the game, he knew it wasn’t working, imagine he was already planning how he was going to change things at half time.

Going to a back four with Bijol in it could have seen us lose the game before HT.

Farke waited and made the right decision as it was still 0-0 at the time of Rodon's injury. Had we scored the first goal then we might have stuck with the original formation for even longer.

Brentford are a terrific team.

We did well to keep the score down to one, last season our defence would have caved in badly.

Farke organised his troops at half-time, and we were the better team in the second-half.

For me that would have been extremely risky given how much Brentford were on top. They could have completely over ran us whilst we tried to adapt. Almost a case, in my opinion, of trying to hold on to what we had, limp to half time and then have the chance to tell everyone exactly what role they were playing - especially given Elvedi is new to the team and likely wouldn't have been up to speed in terms of shifting to a different formation.

I know we conceded after Rodon went off but I think if we'd have been in disarray we could have easily conceded a couple. For all Brentford's domination their xg was fairly low so having the 3 backs does give us the chance to hang on at times, an extra centreback to get a block or tackle in.
