Overall i believe this transfer window has been good perhaps 8/10. I really like the players we have brought in would of liked us to sell some of the players we have let go on loan to ensure we have funds available in January in case we need reinforcements

Apparently we were working on a 3rd deal as well as the 2 we got

Dodi Lukébakio.

Farke didn't want him so we didn't push.

pjm2019 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2026 9:26 am Are you saying footballers only receive wages 42 weeks a year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you should look at the various websites that list the players wages and it confirms the 52 weeks per year, as per my calculation rather than your 42
The trouble you have though is that footballer's contracts run from 1st July to 30th June - as such the full 52 weeks. Grealish though didn't go to Everton on 1st July so they wouldn't be paying him for the weeks that have elapsed from 1st July to yesterday. They will pay his weekly wage presumbaly from yesterday to 30th June. Am guessing, unless Victor has miscounted, that that equates to 42 weeks.

Hopefully I have maanged to placate the warring factions!

8/10 - think there may be a poll somewhere that you can actually register that score. If not I'm sure no one will mind if you create one... ;-)

Don't think so

Probably just an extra option as the squads very thin still.

But apparently Farke didn't want him so they dropped it.

Possibly a case of him being a player high up on our list if we needed a player in that position. If, as you suggest, Farke wasn't keen it may simply be that Farke told them he was happy with his options and didn't feel that he'd be able to give this guys enough minutes to make it worthwhile signing him.

If you look at the left side then in signing Bahayo, as a project, we can likely give him 30 minutes or so every match as a sub for Okafor.

Priorities now should be new contracts for Farke and also Nmecha.

Can understand maybe why Farke wanted to wait until the window had closed but any further delay would be concerning.

Nmecha only signed for 2 years and has done more than enough to earn a new deal.

Squad may be thin, in your opinion, but no point stockpiling in 1 position just to bolster the numbers. If we brought someone in a s a potential long term project but is 3rd or 4th choice in that position then, as shown with Gnonto, it would be hard to give him enough minutes to help his development.

Including Joseph we have a 24 man squad.

More than enough.

Must be happy it's his choice and ultimately his neck on the line.

But yeah apparently he didn't want him so they didn't push it.

I do think it's thin in certain areas.

But actually that guy doesn't really solve it so not that bothered.

He's a right winger, may be better than James (probably is) so it's a higher quality player.

And if DF didn't want him then he wouldn't use him anyway so pointless.

But wouldn't fix the 10 issue or striker one.

So yeah not that bothered on him specifically

Joseph? Mateo Joseph, unless you're planning on starting him on crutches he's unlikely to be fit till summer next season. ACL/MCL are injuries that easily retear if not allowed to heal properly. Adrian Peterson is the fastest I've ever seen recover to playing fitness and he took 9 months, Joseph injured in April so February to resume training if he's All Day fast, and then he'd need a month in the 21's

We have 23 in the squad

Joseph will be back this season and the way he's working in the gym on his rehab I'm expecting him to surprise a few people when he returns.

If it works out he just might be the new striker we need and he's with us under contract until the summer of 2028. Now I know he wanted to leave last summer and it was easy to see why with his pathway blocked but the way things are turning out it might just be that everything falls into place for him here at Leeds.

Hey he could even be your new Gnonto :)

Well if pjm rates it highly, then that tells you we had a good window! :)

Well that's a worry given the long contract and very high wages

We have more than enough. Virtually every player in this seasons squad is a Farke prem pick. So I expect more rotation, particular with the ability to rest a player with a niggle.

We have a lot of players that can cover multiple positions, who are not square pegs. I will be very surprised if we see Joseph pull on the shirt again. Once Farke has decided that you are not part of the group, he has been rather consistent. Harrison possibly an exception but got him out of the door at the earliest opportunity.

Even assuming a bit of a miracle recovery I don't think he'll ever get in a Farke squad again, Ramazani had more chance... Match fit by late March, think you have to declare your 25, stick to it, even if short and then you get a second 25 list in February. By which time we should have added a forward plus one in the window..

You might be right but hopefully not and he gets his chance from around January onwards.

There’s a player in Joseph who plays in a position we probably will end up spending £40m plus on.
