As one of the clubs with no doubt (I think) that would give you an advantage then surely? The Fish wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2026 10:03 am Debt-linked anchoring.
5 times the revenue of the 'poorest' club would give every Premier League clubs the freedom to spend around £600m on fees and one year of the contract. Non CapEx debt has to be serviced first, so financial debt and transfer debt is taken away from that allowance.
So, this means that the elite clubs can still financially compete with any continental rival, the ambitious clubs can speculate, no club can put themselves in too much debt as that would only decimate their allowance next season. It would be in the elite clubs' interests to fatten the coffers of other PL clubs.
And how do you start it? Announce it a few years in advance maybe to try and give teams a chance to get rid of their debt?
The issue with rules is someone will lose out I think, I doubt is a way to make it fair for all is the thing.
I'd like to see better rules but feels like the horse has bolted imo.
You cant go back to state owned teams spending willy nilly like Man City and Chelsea.
But it's hard to reign it all in
