Investment - January approaches

With Christmas round the corner, it still seems a long way off the January window but its only a matter of days now.

Will Ken open his wallet?

Is Simon considering spending?

Is it wise to bring in new players that may disrupt the squad?

Macca and O'Brien (unless he's hurt really badly) are easy ones. Need a talented, tough-as-nails midfielder, but then again, so do most clubs in the Championship and even Prem. I can't put a name to the mythical midfielder though. The clubs that have such a player, won't be giving him up, at least not for Ken Bates money.

no your not, But on the plus side, all other leftback's we have had since dorigo have been hated by our own fans, and some for making less mistakes than mccartney, so perhaps we shuld sign him s

And maybe another Back up defender. The rest seem's ok? We have nearly played every team this season and it wasn't too hard? No one in this league has a steady defence.

Sign that lot up and then carry on like we have been doing and hopefully it's playoffs 2nd place or champions of the Championship.

could the problem be the same as other clubs - shortage of talent to buy at reasonable prices - any fool can buy at the price asked - but we need players to fit in with our playing style. We spent last season playing to beckfords way -now we have a more versatile team -lets build on that

Did Bates haters have a different education to normal folk? Were they taught to ignore facts in favour of feelings and bias? Do Bates haters bring a similar lack of objectivity to every part of their lives? I'm looking at the table and wondering where Bates let Larry down. It can't be midfield cos some Bates haters worship at the feet of our little antipodean and start threads of praise of our tough tackling midfield player. It can't be defence where we have 3 Prem players out of 5. It can't be attack where we are scoring for fun. For me we need to replace Killa but we are marching up the league so what do I know. What I do know is Bates has turned our club round. I am truly astounded by the hate for our chairman and can only conclude it's the Chelsea connection. It certainly isn't finance/results/entertainment

he just signed a new 4 yr contract, but if bates coughs up some money,ole gunnar solskjær might sell...who knows

molde fk also had a striker on loan this season, became top scorer also..in a weak molde season that uwe røsler came in and saved the last 8 games unbeaten 6-2-0

All I can say is

Sorry mate - but we don't need failed or old Noggie players....in fact we don't really need ANY players in this window, except for O'Brien...IF his injury isn't as life threatening as made out on LUTV tonight!

The squad we have is excellent....There is NO new Aalfie HÅrland in Norway ATM.

I do because when we needed to invest for a quality central midfielder which has been a basic requirement for the last two years we have fannied about finally bringing in a crock who had'nt played for 18 months & has since played precious little football for Leeds because he is either injured or unfit, add to Faye we sign Clayton who is now out on loan
Even more worrying is when we have paid a fee for players we are not playing them because they are either average or not good enough for our first eleven
The only player we have paid a fee for who looks like he has a football brain is McCormack, even he has struggled to earn a first team place mindst i think it's only a matter of time before Mc consistently shines

January window imminent, time for Bates/Grayson to make that one imperative signing which could be key to our promotion hopes, would be a magnificent feat in our first year back in the championship. Come on Ken time to open your wallet

Btw WR you use the word HATE, which in my book is a horrible word. I personally do not hate people, it's not in my nature as you know me by now i am basically a friendly outgoing type of fella who feels no malice for anyone. I do despair with folk at times but don't we all

I don't know what the true description might be BUT 'Bates haters' seem unable to give any credit whatsoever to Bates. Whether that's hate or something else, for me it's downright illogical. Bates haters also assume that Larry is dishonest, they have to do because Larry is glowing in his praise for Bates who is equally gushing in his priase for Larry. Do Bates haters trust anyone in this life? I begin to wonder.

Are we back at the top of the Championship fighting for promotion by luck/despite Bates etc. As I say, crazy crazy world.
