We lost, but I've been saying from the start that the league is more important than the cup, and we'd probably lose anyway.
Our players did incredibly well considering how they were up against talent like Fabregas, Van Persie, Nasri and Walcott over the two legs. Other teams would have rolled over but even when it was 3-1 we still went for it. Our support tonight was immense as well, I'd love to see ER like that every week, a full house is always rocking. Take a bow lads, you've made me proud tonight.
So....back on with the league, and maybe we'll see Arsenal again next season?

Absolutely right to be proud - of the players and the fans. Arsenal played much better than the first tie, have to say they showed their class BUT we fought all the way, and kept going right to the end !
The only thing is that effort is bound have left a lot of tired legs - we really need to make quite a few changes on Saturday. I hope O'Brien isn't too badly injured !
Think i saw a different game today, thought it was absolutely shite. Outplayed for a full 90 mins, and we didnt fight the way we did on emirates. I dont mind the result or losing as i had the feeling we would, but i expected more fighting from us.
Within 30 minutes it could have been 5 - combination of Arsenal oozing class, but also us lying deep - Snoddy rarely went across the halfway line - or so it seemed and nothing stuck to Paynter. That puts pressure on you when the ball is coming back at your midfield/defence so quickly - think this is where we missed Luci especially.
I was expecting passion and energy after the goal, but it did not really materialise - and it was Arsenal that came out for the 2nd half in the manner I hoped we would.
However, mistakes cost goals and games and Johnson did not track Nasri for the first, was culpable for the 2nd, although perhaps KS should have saved it, and the ball was too easily lost in midfield (by Howson (?) to Song) for the killer.
Must admit that the crowd on a surround sound system made the hairs on my neck stand up - what a support!
The only thing that annoy's me about this result is that Ipswich beat them when Fabregas & Walcott started from the beggining and didn't even conceed a goal.
just got back, tbh i thought it went pretty much the same way as first....arsenal could have won that one comfortably too but at the emirates they had quite a few misplaced passes. we were never going to be able to compete and though we were outclassed we did have a couple of moments but tonight it was'nt to be.
great to see ER full. my voice is totally gone, sang every song and had a great night....now bring on the next home game let's get 3 points!!!
just a few points. The Kasper was good again, The back 4 did well, Hope O'brian will be back in 14 days, but Bromby did really well, so not to worried. Parker again did werry well for a player playing his 3 game in 9 months. We where overun in midfield. Snoddy was dubbled marked by premier league players, and that is hard to do much about. Howson had a few sloppy passes, shoved in glimpses his talent in forward runs, but just is not at his best, when it's just him and BJ in CM.
What a goal from BJ, and that is 2 games in a row that he has hit the goal, not bad at all. As for his positioning, he has almost there, but was just 30 Centimeters away from where he shuld be, for most of the game, and this is where he needs to get better. But it is a bit unfair to be to critical, when you think about how much he has improved this part of his game from last season, where he was anywhere else than where he shuld be.
Paynter worked hard, and without any wing play it will be hard for him. Our game actualy sufferd when he wnt off.
The only thing I was disapointed about, is the same thing i'm disapointed evry game I see. As much as I rate Gradel as a striker, and in a 4-4-2 he would easyly score 15-20 goals season, I just can't stand to see him on the wing. I don't really care that he has scored 9 goals in 6 months. His crossing is so poor, that a sheep would do it better... JUST PRACTIS THIS FFS!!!!!!! but you got to love his workrate.

Just when Howson was starting to impress me in the Championship, he bottles it against Arsenal. Showed tonight he is nowhere near Prem class, let alone the captaincy.
Yes, he flicked the ball to BJ for that wonderful goal, but what ELSE did he do? Lost every tackle - was 5 seconds too late to every 50/50 ball and was lucky not to have been sent off.
Like a rabbit in the headlights he was tonight. Over awed by the game.
As to Watt? He had an arsenal shirt on under his Leeds one. Just wasn't interested tonight. He is arse and NOT Leeds - mistake to play him. TW@T.
But yes I'm PROUD that we kept going to the end as a team....no disgrace and the whole WORLD knows that LEEDS ARE ON THE WAY BACK TO THE TOP! :scarf2:
Back from the game and watching a re run on tv as I write
Cant believe some of the negative comments on here, particularly from those who weren't there. We were playing against one of Europe's premier teams and weren't disgraced. Its irrelevant to draw comparisons to Ipswich, different game, different team, no two matches are the same - thats the beauty of the game.
Tonight I watched the best player in the Premiership, - Nasri. Drifts past players as if they're not there, finds passes others cant see, strong, pacey, he has the lot. For the first time since Roy Wegerle scored a wonder goal for QPR at Elland Road a thousand years ago, I took my gloves off and clapped an opposition player as he was substituted.

Proud to be a Leeds fan tonight, proud of the fans, proud of the lads. Loved the night and glad the majority did even though we lost. Cant understand some of the negative posts above? And certainly wouldnt say it was sh**te. Gradel and Snoddy were great again and Johnsons goal made the night worthwhile all by itself.

tbh watching the game on telly gives me ALOT more overview of the match and im much more capable of having an opinion on how we played. we weren't disgraced sure, but thats only due to arsenal being ineffective as usual. could of been 5 down after 30 mins before we woke up for the remaining mins of the first half. looking at both games im pleased with what we achieved. but i am still a bit disappointed on todays performance, the class difference between us was even larger than i thought
