Leeds fan from the States

What's up MOTforum, I didn't know exactly where to put this, but I luckily am one of the few to be graced by watching many Leeds games and I can call myself a fan. I've worn my Howson jersey around town a few times and people (here in the States the only teams people know are ManU and Chelsea ---> scum) are extremely confused. Well I was just saying my hello from Dallas. Good to be on here. MOT

I have to ask you, if you're not from Leeds, and you have no memory of when the side was competing in the Champions League.... what the hell posessed you to pick them as the team you'd support?

There are HEAPS of overseas fans, me being one of them, but most of us are either REALLY old and remember the revie years, or at least old enough to remember O'Leary, Kewell, Viduka, Radabe, Smith etc...

You must be a glutton for punishment!

And support them i have, Emsley... I'm not a band-wagoner...

But unless you're from Leeds, and have Yorkshire in your blood.... if you had a choice, why would you pick a team that is struggling down in the third division?

I wouldnt know any other way, although some americans I have show leeds to say they "see the passion"

Hahaha I love all the posts guys. And to respond to chicago, yeah I'm that annoying "iRock" guy who's commented all over the LUA website. I'm all over it haha.

And in terms of how I found Leeds, it's a funny story. I remember I was playing Fifa 08 manager mode and I got tired of playing with the big clubs. I didn't know much about football at the time. I remember I went right for Manchester United and then after I season I decided to pick a smaller club. And had I not picked Leeds, I would not be here. I remember drilling goals from outside of the box with Snoddy and telling myself "well damn...I wanna check these guys out" haha.

But to continue on what some of you have said, the common misconception is that Texans ride horses and are Cowboys. The only thing Cowboy about the city of Dallas are the Dallas Cowboys...nobody rides horses to work, we take the metro or drive our car through rush hour. Nobody walks here in Dallas, stuff is too spread out.

And no I don't have money to buy Leeds players haha,

I'm a poor college kid going to college. So MOT mates.

Oh and to add on to this. Yeah, Jerry Jones would be the guy to ask for money. He's the guy who runs one of the richest sports franchises and he opened this Godly stadium that's like 45 minutes away from my home.
But I'm starting to abandon American football for a better football. There's so much more passion in the game of football.
