the protest at Billys statue was pretty tame I thought.

Never understood the chelsea aspect of the anti Bates brigade...why not "you IrishTrust Bank bastid"? Or, "you Oldham bastid"? Or "you Wigan bastid"? He has eff all to do with any of them, OR chelsea anymore.

I see that the 200 or so who started at Billy's statue had dimished to about 50, outside the W.Stand? The rest had ducked into Billys Bar on the way there!

And afterwards, the supporters got onto the business of cheering, chanting, and singing in very fine voice, at least as it sounded on the radio. So to those who bang on about how protests only hurt the players, they are dead wrong. If not for a terrible ref and max getting sent-off, we win rather easily.

Of course the protest worked, it worked before it even happened, forcing Bates into a two page interview to try and explain his way out of the mess he's created with the YEP on Friday. The protest sent a message - a proportion of the fans are sick of Bates lies, sick of his non-investment, sick that the very presence of Bates means no-one else wants to get involved, and that they won't lie down and take it. Today was just the start, and a good one at that.

Are any of the protestors going to abandon Leeds and support another team? Thought not.

And the old b@stard knows it, so he'll continue to refuse to invest, he'll take out of the club whatever he wants and we will swallow it.

And think on, when he does eventually die - it's his toy, who will he leave the club to in his will?

You know what really saddens me about your posts on this Twiggs is that the couple of hundred that you are happy to mock are diehard Leeds fans.

The kind of fans that would chip in so that a fan with no money could get to an important game.
